I was here for a birthday. It was overpriced, underportioned and under seasoned. For example we asked how many pieces were included in the Jalapeno poppers. The answer was 10. We were delighted as these are a favorite treat. But there were not 10, there were 10 pieces of poppers already cut up (maybe 2 actual jalapenos). the Quesadilla (800) was the size of a quarter normal flour tortilla and then cut into delicate triangles topped with finely sliced jalapeno and peppers, but there was almost no cheese. The beef in the tacos (which was in chunks, to my dismay) had no seasoning but plenty of meat tenderizer. For flavour the chef relied heavily on coriander, mini limes, and chunks of pineapple (!!) which is fine, but they do not make mexican food.
I also felt sure there a sort of prawn shell after taste on the corn tortillas. I will say that the pulled pork was fine (apart from the fishy flavour). But at 660 yen per piece, we were barely able to eat our fill.
The drinks were so weak as to be almost unrecognizable as alcoholic. it was crazily over priced and really disappointing. The staff were wonderful. But even good staff can't save a total rip off like this place.
I am used to hearty portions of rice, beans, tortillas and delicious fillings, strong drinks and a festival atmosphere. This had none of those things. I strongly advise against...
Read moreI have been searching for a yummy Mexican place here in Japan and I finally found it. The burrito and the quesadilla were perfection. They are even better than places I have been to in America. The flavors were fresh, yummy, and full of life. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend. I got a frozen mango margarita and it too was really good. The portions are small so don’t be afraid to indulge in the selection. The service was also top tier for us being foreigners.
Update: I would recommend making a reservation. We went to go back on a Sunday and the upstairs was booked for a party and the downstairs was reservation only but already booked out. Such a disappointing after the commute so make sure to reserve before...
Read moreThe cocktails—margarita and mezcal margarita—were excellent, way beyond my expectations, and not expensive for the quality.
Squid ceviche was also great, it would be nice to have more than one choice of ceviche on the menu.
The guacamole was good, not great—but the freshly-fried tortilla chips were delicious. People complaining that the chips are "oily" obviously have no idea how tortilla chips are made, and you should ignore those people.
Unfortunately, the other food was just so-so. Salsas were sweet, not spicy; tacos looked amazing, but didn't have much flavor.
Service was okay if a little amateurish.
I'd go back just for cocktails, chips and ceviche, but will skip the...
