Ichiran Ramen is easily one of the best ramen experiences I’ve had. From the moment you step in, you can tell they have perfected not only their ramen but also the entire dining process to ensure efficiency and quality.
One of the unique aspects of Ichiran is the ordering system. Instead of ordering from a waiter, you use a vending machine at the entrance to select your ramen and any additional toppings. It’s simple, convenient, and ensures a smooth ordering process even during peak hours. After receiving a ticket from the machine, you hand it to the staff, and they quickly prepare your meal.
Now, onto the ramen itself—the star of the show. The broth is absolutely incredible. It’s rich, creamy, and packed with deep umami flavors that come from hours of slow-cooking pork bones. It has that signature tonkotsu depth without being too heavy. You can also customize various aspects of your ramen, including noodle firmness, spice level, and richness of the broth, which makes for a truly personalized experience.
The noodles are perfectly cooked, firm, and have a nice chew that pairs well with the flavorful broth. The chashu pork is tender and melts in your mouth, adding an extra layer of richness. Every bite is satisfying, and you can tell the quality of ingredients is top-notch.
Service is impressively fast. Despite the restaurant often being busy, the efficiency of the vending machine ordering and the dedicated ramen booths make for a seamless experience. The individual seating setup ensures you can fully focus on enjoying your bowl without distractions.
Overall, Ichiran delivers an outstanding ramen experience with its delicious broth, perfect noodles, and unique dining system. Whether you’re a ramen enthusiast or just looking for a quick yet high-quality meal, Ichiran is a must-visit. Highly...
Read moreI would say that this is one of my favorite stops now, considering (to my knowledge) they're open 24 hours.
It was 1500 Yen for a bulking (Weight-gain with a focus on maintaining/building muscle) meal, which included double noodles, two half boiled eggs (which you crack yourself, CAREFULLY!), and extra pork.. though the actual noodles themselves are just shy of 1000 Yen. There's only one option of noodles, though you get to customize your own when you first sit down. They hand you a piece of paper and you circle what you like. I like my noodles soft, personally.
The service is fantastic and prompt. Within seconds of hitting the button, you get someone's attention. I absolutely LOVE the attention to catering to introverts. The blinds/shades in front of you with a small window in which you interact with the staff is truly comforting. No more uncomfortable moments or people looking at the "gaijin" because everyone's facing the same direction.
They do have English menus and your guide to eating is usually to your left (a wooden divider that separates you from your 'neighbors').. but you have to ask for them. Just point to the menu and ask for "Eigo" (pronounced 'ey' as in 'hey'-go), meaning "English"...
Read moreA very unique Japanese ramen experience. This is a big chain of ramen restaurant in Japan and started in hakata. The unique dining experience include partition between diners, which makes the entire dining experience a very lonely one. But that is also the interesting part.
We were there for lunch and there was a long queue. We waited more than thirty minutes before all of us had seats. Ordering was done at the vending machine outside but there was assistants there to help.
The taste and standard of the noodles and broth were outstanding. They were able to replicate the taste of their ramen across every restaurants in the country which was rather...
