Gyukatsu Motomura is a must-visit spot for beef lovers, and the JOINUS branch lives up to its stellar reputation. If you’re craving perfectly cooked gyukatsu, this place delivers.
🥩 The Gyukatsu – Near Perfection
One of the best I’ve ever had—crispy on the outside, unbelievably tender inside. The beef itself is of great quality, and I love that they let you cook it further on a small grill to your preferred doneness. Whether you like it rare or well-done, it’s all in your control.
🍽 The Set Rule – A Downside
While the food is excellent, I wish they allowed ordering just the beef. Unfortunately, every customer is required to order a full set, which includes rice, miso soup, and sides. The set is well-balanced, but if you’re just there for the gyukatsu, it feels restrictive.
🏆 Verdict
If you’re in the mood for incredible gyukatsu, this is one of the best spots in Yokohama. The crispy-yet-meltingly-tender beef is worth the visit. Just be prepared to commit to the full set.

Read moresuch an amazing joint with a reasonable waiting line. the food came out pretty quick but thats because you had to cook it yourself. the ox tongue is really great to cook with and so too is the wagyu set. the sauces are amazing and its worth dipping the meat with the mustard sauce over the soy based sauce. the potato salad here is also heavenly and it would be great if it came in the oxtongue set. you can get away with cooking the meat for a minute as you want to crisp it up without overcooking the meat. i would recommend trying the ox tongue set if you like that and getting a larger portion of the wagyu set if you are sharing it...

She however didn’t tell me about the dressing for the salad so I ate my cabbage without any…
They recommended grilling the medium-rare beef on both sides, but I only seared it quickly as I prefer my beef rare. The meat melted in the mouth, it was so delicious I ordered another steak immediately.
The flying fish stock was flavourful and I drank...
