Stumbled upon this place after having the dumplings opposite.
We had the dumplings and wanted some light snacks. The first floor of this place had egg tarts / coconut tart / sesame ball. That’s when we saw the standing menu for this restaurant on the second floor.
Maybe the publicity and marketing for this place wasn’t immediately obvious that’s what when we came up only one other table had diners.
Nevertheless we decided to order since we were hungry. Ordered a couple of items but the shoutout dishes are as follows.
No45 on the menu - Dou Miao vegetables. Definitely one of the best I have tried of this dish. Rich, deep, flavourful. There still that very veggie taste with each bite but makes you go back for more. Many previous iterations that I tried of this lacks this flavour profile and is mostly just fried.
No69 on the menu - fried sauce with thick sauce. I must say when it arrived we were apprehensive cuz of the presentation. But first bites changed everything. The rice is moist and fragrant. With the sauce it is saltier but the grains become more smooth and definitely gets better...

The shrimp har gao was delicious. Chive manju had a nice texture and juiciness but lacked filling. The shrimp cheung fun had a great texture, but tasted a little starchy. I couldn't really taste the fermented bean sauce in the pork ribs in bean sauce, but it was otherwise well-seasoned. The tripe was tender and mild. Vegan bean curd rolls were decent (but my pescatarian fiance loved them). Very minor findings, but all-in-all, a beautiful establishment. I would come back without hesitation.
The staff tried their best, but I could tell that they had a stressful day. I really...
Read moreDelicious dumplings! We luckily missed the big lines and were in quick at around 1pm.
Cash only but when we gave the attendant Y3000 for a Y2200 meal she asked for coins. We fumbled for a bit to find some and she got snappy and snatched the cash out of our hand. Tourists be warned, get your coins ready!
The dumpling was chewy and caramelised on the bottom, supple on the top and filled with a simple vibrant broth that burst with hot goodness when you bite. They offer pork and seafood varieties and both were equally juicy and delicious.
If you’re in the area definitely worth picking up but not worth going out of your way if you...
