The WORST dining experience in the entire trip.
This izakaya advertise themself for specialty sake (you can find photos everywhere, on google map, on their storefront windows etc.) they even have all the Jikon and 新政 bottles lined up in the most visible spots in their counter/shelf. However, when asked for any of these specialty sake, the answer is simply: sorry we can’t sell them today.
What makes it worse is that clearly they have those in stock, they just don’t want to sell them to you as a tourist. We felt being discriminated against. And it is not because of the server, it is primarily a say of the leader chef of this place. To give a clear example, after being told that they don’t have any of the specialty drinks that day, we went ahead and ordered another regular sake. The waiter later on came back and told us that they have Jikon if we want, and then the other chef behind the counter clearly gives the waiter that eye signal that no, it cannot be sold to us. I don’t know what is the issue with this particular chef and why he does not want to do the business. Regardless, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone who come for specialty drinks. It is fake advertisement, weird environment, unfriendly people. The food was okay, but totally not worth it and I regret a lot going. Simply don’t come if you are tourists. My Beloved husband booked the Drink buffet course (~6,000 yen each) with Angler-fish Hot pot. It is my first time to having "Angler-fish" or "Goose - fish" Ankou アンコウ in Japanese. This fish has delicious taste what is opposite with the face !!! It seems like I ate Collagen without oily. I love it.
Other dishes such as Sashimi - raw fish, deep-fried oysters and side-dish like salad are Good and tasty, too.
According to the place mat; Hanatare 魚と酒 はなたれ serve fish - seafood and vegetables, everyday fresh from Miura City, Kanagawa prefecture. They have special Sake liqueurs from whole Japan.
I recommended 9/10 for fish lovers !!!
