Was exploring yufuin village, and came across this red sign for coffee leading me into the backstreets away from the tourist trap crowds.

OK decided to try it out. Wow little gem, the owner has about + 50 years experience and roasts his own coffee, and brews them in his hario chemistry lab setup and ancient coffee grinder older than me.

Go for mocha matari or blue mountain (straight coffee, if you are black coffee drinker). Coffee is smooth, but i think a lot of the beans are mild style (dont think you will find naturally processed, funky tropical style beans here). The owner does not like it if you order an iced americano but he will still make it lol.

They have a collection of old style fancy china with the music in the background sipping on it makes you feel like you're posh upper-class...

I was pleasantly surprised to have discovered such a banger cafe in yufuin, they’ve a bunch of different beans for all sorts of folks so feel free to convey your taste.
