So I checked this place out as it was close to me and the reviews praised it to high heavens, so I wanted to find out what's all the fuss is about. And I can tell you it IS amazing and here's why:
The food is perfect! • We tried lamb and veal and both were just gorgeous. Perfectly cooked meat, the right amount of chewy and the right amount of "melt-in-your-mouth". • We tried the homemade ice cream. The ginger-caramel flavour was superb. The wine selection great. • The starter with homemade bread and tapas was amazing as well as even the sides for the main.
For a full course meal expect around 20€ per person. It's really worth it, though, for the flavour and the amount of food.
Besides the food, the atmosphere was really nice and cozy, really did feel like home. Also, the waitress was just a sweetheart, very helpful and able to explain everything on the menu. Never felt more inclined to leave a tip.
The only downside is that not everyone might be able to notice that there's a fantastic restaurant there as from the outside the place just looks like art gallery/bookstore. However, once you find it you'll...
Read moreThis restaurant was such an unexpected gem. You assume, walking into an arts and gift shop that at best, this place will serve decent coffee, refreshments and desserts. But the food was above expectations!
As everybody said, the kitchen cooks whatever’s fresh and available on that day. On our visit, we had the lamb (in a simple caremalised onion jus) and the cod (in a simple cream sauce). The food comes with a big bowl of salad, homemade bread (with various spreads), and sides of that day (we had roasted butter beans and new potatoes in a creamy dill sauce). The food was good quality, not fussy and very filling.
As others have note, because they change their menu everyday, they don’t have printed menu and prices. For the record, our two meals and two beers came to about €43. Which we thought was very reasonable for the quality and...
Read moreI called for reservation for two people for the next day. She offered me 18.30 and 21.00. I told her that let's make it 19 but she said it is not possible. I tried to explain her that there is no much difference keeping same table full from 18.30 or from 19.00. She said you can sit whole evening coming at 18.30 but you can't reserve it from 19.00. I kindly asked that please don't make me to come at 18.30 and wait for the friend till 19.00 just because of this "rule", it does not make any sense to you or me. She did not agree. And finally, in the same call, I told her okay let it be 18.30, she says no we are fully reserved. Lying just because I was honest to explain her my situation and does not believe that I will change my plans and come at 18.30 because of this meaningless rule. When I asked for her manager she said she is...
