Kiubėtė — Restaurant in Trakai

It has already become an established tradition, that when we are in Trakai, we always go to Kiubete for a delicious dinner with family and friends.

A genuine traditional karaim cuisine, which guarantees understanding of its main „ingredients“ and provides a true experience. Also Lithuanian dishes are of the highest standard. It sounds banal, but the garlic-cheese rusks (breads) are here the best in whole of Lithuania. Based on some 20 various places through the last couple of years. So it‘s definitely a must!

Great atmosphere, good food and perfect prices. I went there with my girlfriend, both satisfied. We toke a soup each one (not good, but great with that cold), divided one main typical dish with pork (good but nothing special, maybe an other taste can be wonderful), divided one typical sweet with cherries (it was wonderful, and because of the type of sweet, I think that the one with apple and cinnamon is incredible) and I toke a beer with berry syrup, I paid €9,50 and she paid €8. I didn't dare try some "kiubete cabbage cake" for 18 eur 🙈 and glad I didn't coz the cabbage kibin wasn't all that good. BUT the stew in clay pots I found EXCEPTIONAL! A bit too much fat substance in the pot but the taste was amazing (chicken flavour). The cherry cake (baked just for you!) was good enough but nothing mind blowing. Saltibarsciai good enough, nothing magical. Service girls were super polite and fast (given how many tourists come here...). Outdoor seating on a sunny day definitely...
