The wife and I had lunch here yesterday based on the recommendation of a colleague for my love for the rasam soup-in-a-cup. Mind you, there are only a handful of places in Kota Kinabalu that serve rasam.
At a glance, its just a typical indian eatery. Some might think nothing much of it. But do you visit a place because of its food or because of its atmosphere?
The place seem to only open daytime (based on a colleague knowledge). It is also one of a handful of restaurants that have more than 30 years experience (also based on a colleague knowledge). Hence, it already has its regulars. Imagine a Chinese family (with kids) enjoying roti canai and lassi (on the board-RM4.50 before inflation of course). Hence, the term 'melting pot' comes to mind.
The wife and I had banana leave rice/nasi brani, fried fish, mutton, and the usual. Personally, the rasam suits Kota Kinabalu residents. Moreover, the attentive and friendly waiter ensured that orders were promptly taken and served. It's no wonder this place is always buzzing with activity, as the queue of eager customers seems...

I go myself a vegetarian platters along with some side dishes like fried chicken and fried bitterground.Let me just say, it is simply delicious , give it 11/10. I especially love the mint sauce, its so refreshing. The service was fast, the owners are very hands-on in helping service run smoothly, asking everyone if the food is good , I like tht. The place could have a queue sometimes so make sure, you come early to get the best out of the best in Indian authetic cuisine. All in all, eating here was a very enjoyable experience.
