"People get angry because the truth hits home."
I will not be engaging further. I encourage readers to consider both my original feedback and the owner's response before deciding to visit.
And please ask those stay nearby n visited before for real feedback
Not recommended. I originally ordered hot pot and selected a dish, but was later told it was unavailable and was asked to choose something else. I said if it wasn’t available, just forget it—no need for a replacement. Despite that, they still ended up serving the dish I explicitly declined. This kind of sales tactic is really not advisable. Besides, the food is relatively expensive. Although Haidilao is also pricey, it’s delicious—whereas this place was both overpriced and not tasty. I definitely won’t be coming back.
Reply based on owner response: While I appreciate your response, it fundamentally misrepresents the entire experience: I did not order the signature dishes you cited, as I immediately and clearly rejected them when they were suggested, yet they were brought to our table regardless; the bill of approximately RM 200 was for two people, not three, which sharply contradicts your claim and underscores the lack of value we received; we certainly did not finish all the food, leaving a significant portion uneaten due to its poor quality and taste; and any positive reviews you see were likely given at the direct request of your cashier during payment, under the uncomfortable pressure of the moment, which is not a genuine reflection of customer sentiment. My review was an honest account of this disappointing experience, and your defensive reply—which attempts to discredit a factual account rather than address the concerns—only reinforces my conclusion that your establishment is unable to accept constructive criticism, a fact seemingly evidenced by your quiet dining room even on peak days. I stand by my assessment completely and welcome any action you wish to take, as my comments are entirely truthful. If really wanna compare, I will say eat at Zi Tian Jiao is like eat kopitiam but pay hotel price
Reply the truth and waiting for your further action I'm waiting for you to use the law to suppress my review. If you truly welcome honest criticism, why do you delete comments on other platforms? It's only because Google Reviews can't be deleted that you're forced to leave them there—proof that you can't handle genuine feedback. Why pressure customers to give positive reviews on the spot? Why secretly switch ingredients just to avoid losing a mere $20 profit? If your ingredients are truly fresh, why would you tell a customer something isn’t fresh and push them to order another dish instead?
Your so-called "hard work" is just overcharging and deceiving customers with fake "signature" claims. The moment I posted comments on other platforms, you deleted them and blocked me. If the food were actually good and worth the price, I wouldn’t mind paying more—but fake Google reviews will always remain fake. If you truly believe your Google reviews are authentic, why not launch a public poll to let real feedback speak for itself? Stop making empty claims and face the truth: your actions speak louder than your words.
Thank you for this extensive and revealing reply. It has provided me and other potential customers with a much clearer picture of the establishment's attitude towards feedback than my original review ever could.
I stand by my initial, subjective opinion on the value and taste of the meal. A professional business would simply state their commitment to quality and leave it at that. The personal attacks, threats, and mocking tone used here, however, are unacceptable and speak...
Read moreWhile on holiday, visiting mum and we decided to try Zi Tian Jiao for a hot pot dinner. Eugene, the manager was super helpful due to dietary needs of family members (severe milk and tree nut allergies) - we had an amazing time. We are big eaters and yet, had to take away some unfinished food with us. We were very well advised on the suitability of the soup bases and hot-pot raw ingredients. The team was very attentive in terms of service. We decided to book ahead for a tailored Chinese dining experience (our 2nd visit in the same week!) for our final evening meal before our departure. Once again, Eugene was super helpful in designing a 5-dish family meal that suited every family member. Our menu: Steamed Barramundi fish (siakap) Nyonya style, Amaranth with Salted & Century Egg broth, Lemon Chicken, Beef in Pepper Sauce, Stir-fried Fresh Pea Shoots served with steamed rice for a very lovely family dinner. Every dish is made from scratch in their kitchen. We were also treated to homemade Osmanthus Jelly doused in honey and sweet, crunchy melon as refreshing desserts.
Thanks Eugene and team! We thoroughly enjoyed our memorable meals with you. See you when we are next back - though I'm sure mum will be bringing friends sooner than that.
IMPORTANT: This is a 'hot-pot' restaurant, so if you intend to have a sit-down dinner with specific dishes, you need to call and make a reservation with a deposit. Please discuss the requirements a couple of days in advance so that they can source ingredients. The team will not be able to magic out an à la carte menu for a walk-in...
Read moreAnother premium chinese cuisine and steamboat restaurant. We ordered mixed sauce noodles, Qing Long Chye, Eggplant with salted fish, Steamed pork belly with Taro, and got a complimentary chinese tea (Oolong grade). We loved the Pork Belly with Taro and the Qing Long Chye with Bean Sprout. Nice and luxurious ambiance, food is delicious too.
This time, we tried their steamboat... we ordered Collagen and Malak Soup. The collagen soup is tasty and delicious whereas the malak is too spicy for my family but just nice for me. The malak will make your stomach warm, be forewarned if your stomach is NOT strong enough, then you'll have stomach upset.
We ordered the D1 set, which comprises of Large Fresh Prawn, Thick Fish Slice or Cut, Bamboo Clams, thin slices of abalone, Crab Sticks, Soya Rolls, Fish, Pork, and mixed balls, etc. Also, the vegetables are Pak Choy, Iceberg Lettuce, young corn, enoki, etc. Got a complimentary pineapple dessert, which is superb and yummy.
For steamboat it is approximate RM80-RM100 / pax.
A satisfying dinner in a calm ambiance, with good food, and a friendly server.
Great for family gatherings, birthdays, anniversaries, and even for any happy occasion or celebration.
