Passed by this place a few times, but only recently had the opportunity to try it.
The food here is simply amazing. We came in as a group of three and ordered their Fattah Crispy Chicken Bowl and Mee Udang Penang Special. Huge portions to share among three people.
The chicken bowl is basically a mixture of spiced rice, salad, and crispy fried chicken. Everything complemented each other well in the bowl. The garlic sauce was so good, we even asked for more. If you mix the garlic sauce and the other orange-spicy-tangy one into the bowl, the rice tastes even better.
The mee udang is delicious, especially due to its gravy. You can really taste the prawn essence in the broth. It's topped with a generous amount of toppings including three fresh medium-sized prawns. The cook even took the effort to deliver the dish herself. We really appreciate that.
As we were finishing our food, the owner gave us a complimentary Pistachio Kunafa. We were informed that it's their latest addition to the dessert menu and they're trying to gather feedback on it. What can I say, it's simply delicious. Flaky, crunchy, buttery, with the right amount of syrup and topped with an adequate amount of pistachio bits.
I will definitely come here again to try out their other dishes, and I highly recommend this place to locals and tourists. Located in the heart of Georgetown near Komtar, it's easy to find. Do come and try if...

🐣 One thing that makes Chias stand out is the owner’s refreshing honesty. He told us himself that he deliberately avoids using TikTok reviewers most of whom, according to him, tend to exaggerate or give less-than-honest feedback just for the hype. Instead, he prefers that customers find the place naturally and share their genuine experiences just like we did, completely by accident, driven by curiosity.
🐣 When we visited, we were the only ones dining inside. The café isn’t very big on the inside, but they do have outdoor seating. The vibe is cozy and relaxed, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We even had a lovely chat with the owner, who took the time to explain the menu in such a professional and passionate way.
🐣 The food? Honestly delicious. Every dish we ordered was full of flavor, satisfying, and well worth a return visit. The prices were also quite reasonable. I'm not exaggerating when I say the food really hit the spot it suited my taste perfectly.
🐣 But perhaps the most beautiful part was sharing this meal with someone I care about. It’s true what they say: Good food tastes even better when shared with someone you love. Some meals nourish the body, others nourish the soul. This one did both. Moments like these linger in our memories simple, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
What a moment....
Read moreLong story short — the food is great. And the food quality is top notch. Don’t even think about it, just go. The prices are worth it.
So my experience with Chias’ began when I was looking for a good shawarma on Grab, but the Arab shop that I liked was closed. Then came Chias and I thought I'd give it a go. Lo and behold, the shawarma I got was fantastic - it had the right amount of meat, sauce and flavouring. I dare say it could rival the Syrian joints scattered around Penang.
The next time around, we had the crispy chicken tender wrap, for a change. It instantly became our favourite. I have ordered this in at least four times, and the taste is consistent and good. It is loaded with generous portions of fried chicken tenders. You can tell it is made with so much of love.
I decided to pay them a visit at their shop recently and and the prices were lower than Grab (obviously). The kitchen is clean and the meats are stored in proper cold storage. The restaurant probably could seat around 10-15 persons indoors, and 10 more al-fresco. Ammar, one of the guys preparing the meal was very kind and gave me a low-down on their other food on offer--biryanis and masala chai (they call it karak chai). Gonna give that a...
