HTK is a wonderful and unpretentious Thai restaurant which offers authentic Thai ingredients, flavour, taste and hospitality to its guests. All this exactly as one would expect at any five-star restaurant in Thailand, and also by educated local Malaysian dinners who really do understand the cuisine of their neighbours to the north!
And also very positively, you won't find any Thai religious relics or Buddhas on display here, which I find a big differentiator! Respect. What awaits me and every other guest upon each visit is just a great Thai food experience without thoughtless distractions.
Full disclosure: I've been a regular patron at HTK over the last 18 months, and have sat down at least 30 times for both dinner and lunch! No kidding, this place is that reasonably priced and food quality is that high. In fact Hana is a 'real' Thai person from Isaan no less (ie NE Thailand), and about as decent and ben Khon Thai as they come! I befriended Khun Hana already last year, and she can be seen most days smiling wide while greeting and seating guests. It is obvious that Hana values her great reputation, and enjoys keeping the kitchen humming, and wait-staff engaged and friendly.
Of course the food at HTK is what matters most and all I can say is here the dishes are all aroy mak-mak, truly delicious! As well, I have never been disappointed with the size of the portions. Plus, the attitude and manners of the staff are fantastic, and in this regard, a big shout out to Moji, Ann, Mimi, and Dau always diligent, bringing food to my table in good time and as ordered.
Definitely, and I mean most definitely, I will be returning again and again to HTK. This lovely restaurant deserves all the success it has been getting post-Covid. Word of advice: remember to make reservations on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, HTK can get super busy on weekends and incredibly, sometimes overflows during...
Read moreYou got it wrong, we do not care about what other patrons did and done throughout their life. No matter how and what great thing he have done, does not give him the privileges to be obnoxious and make others feel uncomfortable. We were at your restaurant to have dinner, thatâs all we care. For the taste of your food, perhaps you should go out and try other Thai restaurants around to judge it for yourself. - Is our first time here and probably is our last too. The taste of the food are really not great, we had lemon squid (taste very bland), thai Basil pork (i can only taste hot & spicy from it), som tum (very bland and can only taste the spicyness of the chili) , fried rice (taste okay, probably the best among what we have ordered). Many great Thai restaurants around, but not this one.
This restaurant is run by Thai, which we felt is nice & authentic. But when we were there, there was an obnoxious âfish and chipâ foreign old man keep babbling about his life, loudly. The whole restaurantâs vibe has been downgraded by him to becomes like a roadside bar in one of those nightclub street in Bangkok, with some drunk backpackers going about their obnoxious life, and nobody really cares and nobody wants to know about them. Sorry but not sorry, it was very unpleasant. We will not be recommending this restaurant nor will we be going back to eat...
Read moreThis was our first time visit here. when ordering the food, we didn't purposely mention whether to order in small or big portion (for sure there is a price difference between the portion).
We were just 2 pax and by common sense we expected we would get the small portion. Ended up, it came in BIG portion and we only realised when we paying the bill (we never know how actual the portion was).
We were shocked!! and felt being cheated indirectly (didn't she see that we only have 2 pax when taking order in front of us?!)
It's seems like they are taking care more on their profit but not the customer service and satisfaction. She don't even reconfirm our order and directly give us a BIG portion.
Having to said that, the food is pricey and taste avagege. Not really...
