Why do people choose to have their meals at at a more exclusive cafe and not cheaper coffee shop ?? Service , Environment lastly food. Although I was warn of "ICHI TONG一桐” for its service and also comments on the menu was "OK" by my father and his business associates but still I decided to give it a try yesterday with another friend of mine but ending up with "BIG UPSET" . Upon entering Me and my friend took a glance at the cafe and we were happy caused it was kinda of quiet so politely we ask for a table of 4 at the back of the cafe as both of us have two big bags of camera's, tripot stand and lap tops. But to our surprise that the female service staff didn't even answer to our request although we repeatedly ask for the table behind because of our two big bags and but she somehow insist us to seat at a corner small table with our bags on the floor. We could have understand that if she let us know that the back section is closed but she didn't. Don't want to make a big fuss so we quietly seat down to the "TABLE " which she insist into seat and place your order.... Frankly "FOOD" was only "OK" and because of the not so good experience we skip and didn't order dessert and hot beverages and skip our photography sessions in the cafe and cut our time Short as what we plan earlier. After paying for the meals before my grab arrive which is merely 5-7 minutes of waiting time I stupidly ask the same female server again can I just have a seat at corner table , with a sarcastic behavior she just swing her finger without even looking. At that point, I felt very insulted with her "RUDE, BAD AND NEGATIVE BEHAVIOR" and just left and stand outside waiting for my grab. I Shared my horrible experience with my father and tell them I will not to go back to"ICHI TONG " again and even recommend this CAFE with such a lousy service to anyone. Why pay money to a cafe which we couldn't even enjoy the service but instead ending up with a horrible...

I really have no choice but to leave this review. I was walking by, and this seemed like a nice spot hidden away from the tourists. To my surprise, the food is shockingly horrible and very expensive. This is one of those meals where I felt sick immediately after, both literally (from the food itself) and metaphorically (the regret of spending so much).

I had the crispy roast pork, vinegar and chili fresh dumplings, Sichuan won ton dumpling soup with prawn, and then tried the sambal fried rice with prawn after sending the soup back to the kitchen.

The roast pork was dry and lifeless, and served on a bed of shredded lettuce (which was the first warning sign). The dumplings were decent, but the shredded ginger piled on top made for awkward presentation. Once the Sichuan won ton dumpling soup made its way out, things took a turn for the worst. It was simply inedible. I love very spicy; I love salt. This was way too much of both. I couldn't feel my tongue after two bites. Straight back to the kitchen.

My biggest mistake was thinking I could right a wrong by ordering something else. The sambal fried rice that other reviewers have raved about was disgusting. Dry, no flavor coherency, sambal had way too much prawn paste, the shrimp tasted like they were half cooked. Just yuck. I cut my losses and left after I was RM 80 into this mess. There are so many places with better food at better prices within walking distance of this place. Don't make...

Visited for birthday celebration but it's unexpectedly the worst experience I have ever had in F&B. I was first disappointed by the impolite response towards my reservation request, I got a question mark "?" instead of a booking confirmation. When we first reached, I handed over the cake and the worker gave no reaction and I even thought she couldn't speak my language. Workers are over hired than what is crucially needed. To be frank, the food are just average and one of our soup noodle was served with a very bad and bitter taste, causing one of the elder to suffer from a feeling of nausea. They explained that they mistakenly cooked with fish belly and gave us a 10% discount as compensation. The story did not end just like this, hygiene is another serious issue to be countered where there was a rat running around, and this has eventually spoiled our appetites. The birthday cake was served after the meal, however the cake board was soaked with water, fortunately we did not let them keep for a longer time, otherwise the water would definitely seep into the cake itself. Last but not least, please prioritize all these taboos which are not supposed to be existed in fnb industry, you would have ruined most of your customers with this poor quality...

Indicator: 1⭐ - 5⭐, 1⭐: Very Bad, 2⭐: Bad, 3⭐: So-so, 4⭐: Good 5⭐: Very good. Food: ⭐⭐⭐ Decent. I would say there are other places where serve foods with better tastes. Salted Egg Fish Skin: not really up to expectations. Cannot really taste the Salted egg and I don't really taste the spices. Fried rice: so-so. Cannot say it's bad la, jiu really decent nia ah. But it's very dry. My father almost choked himself. 🤣 Gyoza: Not bad, but it's not juicy inside. Try to use meat with more fats? So after pan-fried, it should be juicy inside. Drinks: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ho Ka Sai Ice Blended: Gooooooood. Meet my expectations. Coffee taste is strong. Only flaw would be too sweet. Haha. Environment: ⭐⭐⭐ Views very nice, decoration also not bad, it's typical Instagram-able place. Recommended for those who wNt to snap nice photo haha. But ah, OMG, it's so warm inside. Sunlight somehow can penetrate the roof and hit your skin if you choose the wrong place. Not really sure if the air-cond was working or not leh. Staff: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Friendly, kinda 'automatic'. Conclusion: Can come to try if you haven't been there before but it's not the type of cafe or restaurant that I would be revisiting. Disclaimers: All views are my personal thoughts.

Unacceptable Service and Discriminatory Conduct I am not a first-time customer here. I have dined at this restaurant multiple times, even recommended it to others for its consistent taste. But my recent visit has ensured I will never return. I came with two companions and noticed plenty of empty tables at the back. The staff refused to seat us there, claiming the area was “closed.” Yet, a white customer was allowed to sit alone at a large table, and another newly arrived guest was seated in that same supposedly “closed” section. This raises serious questions about the professionalism and integrity of the staff. Was my appearance deemed unworthy? Was I assumed unable to pay? If so, that is a grave mistake. I pay the same prices as any other customer and expect equal treatment—regardless of skin color or nationality. I have been patient, but such conduct damages the restaurant’s reputation. For those wanting to dine here, I suggest visiting the E-Gate branch instead—faster service, friendlier staff, and far more professionalism. If management values the restaurant’s name, I urge you to review the staff who believe they have the right to judge and discriminate based on personal prejudice.
