Update: Used to have team dinner here often as our team has biweekly meeting here at egate. This outlet recently offered supper package which has 20% discount after 10:30pm, and that attracted our interests. Food is also nice and priced reasonably with good portion. However there was few experiences our team (10pax++) went there at 9:30pm (started ordering), the waiter offered the supper package menu (with 20% discount) for us and we all started sending in the orders into the system. What was not known to us is that the Chinese lady wanted to earn extras so she "took initiative" to manually re-enters everyone's order one by one to get rid of the discount because she thinks we're too early, where she claims supper menu can only be ordered at 10:30 pm onwards. The discount is not a main concern here (we proceeded to pay the extras demanded by her: we needed to pay RM50 additional on top of what is shown when we ordered). But the way they handled this totally made everyone of us lost interests.. if you don't want to offer discounts, just give us the normal priced menu, instead of coming out with this package and try to scam and after letting everyone order, then proceed to secretly override everyone's order on purpose to void the discount. They seem to care so much about the extra bucks but they are just going to lose more customers. Everyone...
Read moreI had my high hopes dashed and found this place totally underwhelming. Whether the hype was the cause or the cooking style doesn't fit me, I don't know. Even though I loved the decor, the food was a disappointment.
First the good news. The draught beer was cold and inviting to the lips. A good brew for a hot day. The Salad Sesame Seed Prawn had a light sweet taste complimenting the succulent prawns well. Meanwhile, the Braised Beancurd w/ Shrimps & Fish is deliciously cooked with a well balanced salt and gravy thickness. Seating is plentiful for a restaurant of this size. And that's about it.
The roast duck was ridiculously dry and the skin not tasteful enough. Please don't order the salted egg squid. The batter is so hard and dry that it feels like you are eating biscuit. Meanwhile, the Stewed Assorted Vegetable w/ Beancurd Sheet was a little too starchy and the taste strangely off. The black pepper in the venison was a little too heavy and clouded all other taste. The Mongolian chicken attempt seems a little lost and I didn't like it.
Food is of course a personal thing. What doesn't work for me may work for you. But I really didn't find it...

The fish served seemed to have come from long-term cold storage, as it had an unpleasant smell and did not taste fresh. This raised concerns about the overall quality of their ingredients.
Additionally, the pricing felt disproportionate to the value received. Each dish was priced at RM20 above , but the portions were quite small and did not justify the cost, especially considering the quality of the food which did not meet the standard expectations for such a price point.
Furthermore, the service was unsatisfactory. The staff appeared to be uninterested and some were even rude, which significantly impacted the overall dining experience.
I hope the restaurant takes this feedback into consideration to improve their food quality, portion sizes, pricing strategy, and customer service."
