Let’s start with the positive things about this restaurant. We ordered a curry fish head, which tasted decent with a soft asam flavour. The belacan chicken was well-prepared and went really well with rice and their special sauce.
However, the butter prawn was charged at a rather unreasonable price of RM42, considering that there were only six medium-sized prawns which tasted unexpectedly bland.
The hong siew tofu is a total disappointment. Tofu slices were thin and hard.
The customer service needs much improvement. While they were still empty tables, it seemed that they couldn’t help to ask us leave asap after we paid the bill. The staff exhibited a demeanour that we should not occupy the space for too long though we did not have to intention to begin with.
Overall, I would rate this restaurant three stars. It’s not horrible, but over the years it starts to appear pale in comparison to many more good restaurants out there to deserve...
Read moreWe went here on the recommendation of a friend. We were glad we did. The food was great, the service was friendly and the prices were fair. We had the clay pot fish head which was really delicious and for those that are afraid of eating fish head this should still be OK as they only serve the meat from the fish head (which some bones of course), but it is not a whole fish head so nothing to get squeamish about. We also had the Tom Yam fried rice which was also awesome. It had bits of fish, chicken, some crispy things, and a few veggies in it, but the flavor and texture were great. We also had the ginger venison which was a thin sliced venison which was stewed and tender. The flavor was great also. Lastly we had the mixed veggie dish which consisted of a number of mixed veggies as well as some shrimp and chicken bit. Again it was so tasty. Every single dish we had was great. We will be back to this one and highly...
Read moreIt was from the reviews of other local guides who brought me here. We ordered the medium portion for both fish head curry (it's a bomb!) RM74 and the belacan chicken RM25. Both also delicious.
The belacan chicken is a deep fried chicken wings and it not spicy at all. So I'll recommended this for children.
The fish head curry nonetheless to say is the main dishes here.Truthfully, this is the first time I ate so tasty fish head curry. So far I didn't find any as good as this one in KL. Each of us top up additional rice!
The service is friendly and fast. Hygiene is good. At least no smells in the restaurant although the furniture are a bit old. Proper parkings along the road are available. I didn't give 5 stars because the shop is actually a side corner house converted into a restaurant and the entrance is full of old table and chairs that didn't look...
