*Parking here can be a bit of a challenge. There is a parking lot a few minutes down the street but that fills up pretty quickly too. If you want to take the risk you can illegally park outside the restaurant but be warned that the traffic police make their rounds frequently here so you need to be very aware of the situation outside.
Ambience: It’s the typical kopitiam style of environment. So think sitting on a plastic chair and table and just shifting around other people to walk around.
Service: Nothing to complaint about, as they try to meet everyone’s order as well as they can. The restaurant staff is also diligent in ensuring that drinks orders are taken and met quickly.
Food: Pretty good! Although I haven’t managed to try Oh Chiens in other Penang stores due to the limited time I had, I can safely say this is definitely one of the best I’ve had so far anywhere. There was some inconsistency in the taste I had when I went 2 times however, as the first time was crispier while the 2nd time was more watery.
Price: Reasonably priced, as it costs around RM12 for a small dish of Oh Chien (Doesn’t look that small tbh). Considering the quality you are getting this is also pretty reasonable.
Conclusion: Would I come back here for this? I’ve already answered by question above and undoubtedly I would if I come back to Penang. This is definitely one of the best...

I finally found a place with tasty Lor Mee at this coffee shop. The strong, flavorful coffee is a must-try, and their passion fruit lemon soda is refreshing. The Lor Mee, paired with smashed garlic and vinegar, really takes the dish to the next level!
We also tried the fried oyster, but it was a bit disappointing as it was overcooked and too dark. Their twist with chives didn’t quite work for me either. However, the fried char koey teow and fried mee were pretty good, so there are other options to enjoy.
A fun highlight—my friend happened to celebrate a birthday here, and the boss mentioned it was the first time anyone had done so in all the years they’ve been open. He even treated my friend to a free Teh Beng! Thanks, boss! 😄
The shop is on a corner, which makes parking tricky, and it’s always quite crowded with long queues, but it’s worth a visit...
Read moreThis is one of the places recommended for a decent bowl of prawn mee or better known as 'Hokkien mee' . The famous Hokkien mee here at Thor Seng Kopitiam, Carnavon Street was indeed superb! The boss was so humble and friendly in recommending in multiple languages which customer comfortable with types of customized ingredient you may added in into your bowl of hokkien mee Therefore under his recommendation I had order 2 bowls for the elders to give it a try on the braised pork trotter/intestines. They pretty love it. They were indulged in a little added on roasted pork. For my child… I had order to add in meatball. The size of the meat ball was quite big and fresh. The soup base was rich and intensely flavored by prawn heads and prawn shells. The appearance is delightful bright red being neither too mild nor too spicy, the sweet savory broth had us compulsively slurping up until finish. The price is...
