We actually passed by here a couple of times without knowing what it is, and I knew I had to find out. My greedy daughter and I went to the counter and were at a loss what to get. So she asked for her favourite brown sugar. When the crew replied, "No brown sugar," It sent a shiver down our spines. Hmm, OK, maybe they ran out of brown sugar. We then ordered the most popular drink. What next happen send us crashing to the floor. My daughter, who was in her prime, happily asked if we could add boba to the drink. The crew replied coldly "No Boba"... What audacity!! I was in awe and wish Jango appeared and blasted him away. Ok, only for those Starwars fanatics. I was struggling to contain my giggles looking at my distorted little girl with that many rejections. So to those thinking this is an ordinary bubble tea shop, you are half correct as there is tea. But you won't find the normal menu you find commonly. I must say it's a nice switch from the chewy tidbits boba tea. Tried it with an open heart, and who knows, you might prefer it more than the conventional boba tea. Oh, almost forget the tea we like is the white peach...
Read moreDropped by CHAGEE on Kimberly Street, + I went there twice and I must say it’s one of the best spots in Penang for a premium tea experience. Whether you're a milk tea lover or prefer something lighter like fruit or floral tea, CHAGEE really delivers on quality, presentation, and atmosphere. The interior is modern, clean, and cozy a great place to relax or catch up with friends. You can tell right away that CHAGEE focuses on high-quality ingredients. Their Jasmine Green Milk Tea is smooth and fragrant, and the Da Hong Pao Milk Tea has a deep, roasted oolong flavor that’s truly unique. Plus, their tea isn't overly sweet, which is a big win if you enjoy more balanced and authentic flavors. I also appreciate that they seal each drink with care, and the packaging is elegant it feels more like a luxury tea shop than your average bubble tea place. Staff are friendly and helpful, always ready to recommend something based on your taste. Located right along Kimberly Street, it's super convenient to stop by after enjoying some local street food. Honestly, it’s the perfect place to cool down and recharge with a refreshing,...
Read moreIt was my second time ordering a Chagee, but it was my first time having it in the Georgetown branch and my first time being in Queensbay Mall. We take refuge there to shelter ourselves from the deathly sunrays of Penang midday, which are very hot! I cannot say much about the drink because it is really nice. I ordered Da Hong Pao milk tea, and it is marvelous, quenching the thirst of a hot, melting day. I want to highlight the venue; as with almost every building in Georgetown, it was repurposed as an old shophouse; the cashier and production area are front, and after choosing what you want to drink, you can find a place to nestle for a while. The place is comfy, there are many tables to choose from, and it is very Instagram-able; there is even a small courtyard where the sunlight can go through, but don't worry because the venue is...
