Studio Room Karaoke Bar 唱霸 — Restaurant in George Town

Went twice in a row from 23-24/May for our casual trip of the year. Vibe was great, people are younger compared to all of the other competitors ( which i genuinely think all the other ktv bar are really on the older age group after 5 different testing. Ambience was great! Hope building management wipe the window exterior Services very great, in fact the best. As they will talk around to chat with you and spend roughly 15-20 mins per table. Drinks were on the slightly more expensive route. It’s effectively around 10-15% more than other bar but the location is kinda nice. Note: have no idea on my second day why would some ruckus and tantrums were to happen, but the staffs minimise the situation in very professional and resume their supposed operation just within 5 minutes after the unfortunate situation.

All in all, make a waitress friend from Sarawak and a cool dude named Terry.

For rooms, minimum is 3 hours. Lesser than 3 hours, only mini room is available.

Tried their mini room as I couldn’t sing continuously for 3 hours alone. Booked 1 hour ($20 per hour, non-member price) and extended for another hour ($20).

👍🏻 The headphone and mic 🎙️ are both more than average quality

👍🏻 Their Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese & Hokkien), English and Malay songs are all quite up to date (didn’t try Korean, Japanese songs..)

👍🏻 Drinks are all free flow at the island bar at the center of the hall upstairs

👎🏻 Sound proofing is not done at all. Keep hearing others singing voices from every room nearby without putting the headphone on

👎🏻 The see-through glass door does not provide privacy to the customers who singing with “over-excited” facial expressions

Nice place. Good sounds system but the mic so so. Only 🎤 needs to change...
