This review is purely based on our 1st impression and on the foods we ordered and tried.
Atmosphere was cosy albeit a bit small and limited seats. Aircon was good and cooling although the weather was scorching hot.
Soup noodles with 幼面. It comes with vegetables and meat balls. Broth was ok. Meat balls are kinda like 福州 meatball style.
Nasi Lemak. Generous serving of Sambal chilli upon request. Sambal chilli is packed with onions, i wouldprefer a little more chilli though. But this is subjective to personal preference. Achar was good on the sides. Fried chicken was a tad burnt but crispy and fresh. They fried the chicken only upon ordering which makes it fresh. Egg was half cooked upon request which i feel is good as they are pretty obliging. Ikan bilis crispy and peanuts quite fresh and crunchy. The rice is fluffy although i would prefer it to be a little drier and "separated" as of those traditional kind.
Mee siam was flavourfully tasty.
Dried minced meat noodles was flavourful and tasty. Not too salty which was good and the noodles texture was QQ. Loved it
Toasted kaya butter bread was alright and the half boiled eggs were made to almost perfection.
Teh C was the best. Smooth and not "siap" (no bitter after taste) and kopi was of roasty taste. Preferred the teh c.
Service was really good. As they obliged to our requests. 🥰
Will probably return to try other dishes for a better gauge. I would reckon that their noodles are their...
Read moreThis place is a bit out of the way but it has become a “must-visit” as we really like the curry noodles with cockles there. Singaporeans will better know it as laksa. It’s been a long time since we have had quality laksa. You can choose the type of noodles you would like to have in it. Recommended by the lady boss is the noodle used for wanton mee which soak up the “soup”. We decided to have a mix of yellow noodles with bee hoon(vermicelli).
The broth was rich and flavorful. The cockles were fresh and a respectable size. They even added their signature meatballs and slices of cha siew(Chinese roast pork). Generous portion. Yumz.
Next time we will try the 3 flavour wanton/cha siew noodles. White, black and tomato(to be confirmed).
Pls note: They open early and close...

Wanton mee - if you like the sg pontian wanton noodle, it tastes similar. Good noodle texture with good fragrant sauce. Fried wanton is hot and crispy too. Char siew is the is old sch type. Again it's the pontian style, so don't expect caramelized char siew
Hainan braised noodle - texture and sauce is good too, just the braised pork a little less.
Milo sweetness is well balanced too.
Kaya toast is very crispy with thick butter..
Overall no surprise element but taste really decent. A good place to consider breakfast at 8.30am versus the old school dim...
