Hi Amaya restaurant,
My name is faizal. I have made a reservation for my wife birthday on friday, dated : 16th Feb, 2024. I was there at 8pm for the dinner buffet to celebrate my wife birthday. I would really want to compliment and give a really good feedback regards to your superb excellent service and food! First of all, starts with the reception area at amaya restaurant. I was well greeted and was warmly welcome by your staff. Two of them was st the counter. We were being greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, and they are so profesional. We sat down and survey the food varities before getting pur foods. Both of our kids, enjoy the pizza, chicken rice and the dessert! For us, we try everything. The varieties of food was really alot, and yet it was amazing! We tasted almost all the seafood and other dishes which was there. OYSTERS! Really fresh! While enjoying our food, we were approach by a gentlemen didnt get his name. He urge us not to forget to try to bbq grill outside the station. We were like what??? There is a bbq grill?? We quickly walk out at the back of the restaurant, and wow! There were so much grillz from grill seafood, grill lamb, the sauces, and live pasta! We tried all! Its was really delicious. I would really recomend this restaurant to everyone who really wants to enjoy their buffet dinner. We have gone to, Cafe BLD at Renaissance Johor , makan kitchen, and kuroma. BUT this particular AMAYA buffet, is the best for us. We have explore most halal buffet hotel in Singapore. I think, this can really beat Singapore halal buffet! The staff there are very attentive in clearing the plates everytime we finish a meal. I accidentally drop a spoon on the floor, of the the staff rush over ensuring i dont bend down to pickup the spoon. He quickly pickup for me and change a new one for me. I never see this kind of service before in Singapore. Inwas really amaze! Not forgetting the dessert, ice cream , softy! The ice cream is not normal ice cream. Its a softee! My kids and my wife really enjoy it. We try the ice kacang, superb! And the best, was the cake dessert choices, my wife went crazy testing all the cake dessert. For me the highlight dessert was the SERAWA Durian! I keep taking it! Its was really delicious especially with the pulut... it was really a mouth drooling.. One thing that we did not get to try was there, hot beverages. As we were running out of time. Next time, we will go there early. To eat as much as possible. Thank you Amaya restaurant, for making, my wife bdae dinner celebration a memorable one. We are planning to come again soon. We will love to come again to have your buffer dinner again. I was told it was only on friday and saturday. Kindly please relate to your team that was working on 16th Feb dinner and please give my best compliment! My reservation was under name of Fidzal. We will see you...

In all we had 11 item in the set: Pandan chicken Lemongrass prawn ball Macaron Smoked salmon open face finger sandwich Mini croissant with Thai basil minced chicken filling Som tam salad served in shotglass Red ruby with jackfruit in coconut milk Scones with jam and cream Egg tarts Thai mango with glutinuous rice Brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce
The set came with a mug of TWG tea, ours was Moroccan mint.
Overall the taste of most items were pleasant. The most impressive and delicious was probably the brownie, which we requested to serve last. There was quite a show when the waiter poured the warm chocolate sauce on the the brownie, as it sizzled rather excitingly on the hot plate the brownie was served on. The warm and rich texture of the brownie together the bittersweet chocolate sauce and cold vanilla ice cream was an immediate pleasure to the palate, and me and my wife both enjoyed it immensely, and straight after immediately rated in our No.1 amongst all the food items.
The croissant was also well made with rich buttery flaky texture, albeit on the cold side since it must have been awhile since it left the oven. The combination of savoury basil chicken with the buttery croissant was also a winning combo.
My wife's favourite was the Pandan chicken, which was savoury and slightly sweet with a hit of spices and gentle pandan fragrance. This dish together with the lemongrass prawn could do better if they were served hot immediately off the pan/ grill.
The only not so great item was the macarons, which were overly sweet. 'Nuf said.
Generally all the flavours were well balanced and the sweet items were surprisingly not sickeningly sweet, which gave us a pleasant surprise (with the exception of Macarons). The tea was also nice and a great palate cleanser with a refreshing mint taste. We polished off everything else and returned home full and satisfied.
Definitely worth a...
Read moreOverall, the staff are excellent, the cooking methods are good. The issue is the ingredients quality. A similar buffet to Singapore is the one at the City Hall that one. Like the seafood was really not that good, only the prawn was very good. Even if the crab legs, like they not cheap but they taste of just brine. The mussels no good, just fry a dish of it in Sambal, that's a good way to mask frozen mussels deliciously. Also, could do with more delicious carbohydrates, there was just one fried rice. Could do with a cheap braised noodles (Chinese banquet). You can try a okonomiyaki, cheap and highly valued.
The best items were the Satay, Tempura Vegetable (can add enoki mushroom), the Briyani is good, the Apple Crumble was of that quality. The fish pudding nice for the novelty.
So, I think y'all get the gist, it was RM128, it taste like SGD 39, I hope the food ingredient quality can improve. In fact, your frozen crab not nice can try feeding people chili crab that perfectly mask the taste of crab, Mussels can do the same thing. Because ultimately the staff can produce food, the Apple Crumble show quality, your satay is good. The best part, the worker kept changing the food, so it's very fresh, just the ingredients need improvement or...
