IKEA Restaurant at IKEA Tebrau — Restaurant in Johor

I have been dining at IKEA Restaurants for the past 30 years and my all time favorite is their Fried Chicken Wings. Hence this is really the first time I am so unhappy with their food & service. I was in the queue for about half an hour and I can see there were two plates of chicken wings sitting there on top of the food counter. When it was my turn, I ordered my usual plate of 6 chicken wings and saw that a new tray of chicken wings had just arrived and the Chef (name Fikri) has just served the freshly prepared wings into a takeaway box for the customer in front of me. As the 2 existing plates of chicken wings have been placed there for more than half an hour, I decided to ask for a plate of freshly prepared wings. But to my surprise & dismay, this Chef Fikri insisted that I take one of the two plates on the counter and by thinking that I didn't realize they were sitting there for so long , he even smirky "promised" that the wings were "guaranteed new". Without any options I took one plate and at the dining table I found out that the wings were so cold and stale. I therefore complained about this matter to the Operation Mgr Roslan who then advised me to lodge a complaint in the Google Review and also provided me the name of the Chef (Fikri) so that the mgmt will know who exactly to penalize. I will never ever come here again to dine coz I really don't know how long this Ikea establishment placed their food sitting there in the cold that might just trigger food...

Had: Meat balls(tasteless) with mash potato(ok but not hot or even lukewarm), broccoli(3 small)n jam(didn't try it) Popiah(tasteless,pasar malam one better) Fried dumpling (super crispy but tasteless n room temperature) Wanted t get t soup but it not hot Egg tart( KFC EGG TART better) Fried chicken is not hot either Coffee (lukewarm) Soy icecream simply great better then McD Apple pie/tart was really really good, delicious that I've to came back t following week for it. I think all their food served at a room temperature n when u highlighted to t staff, they will tell u PROUDLY "u can microwave it " The following week : Hotdog(bread was soggy n hot dog wasn't hot)they prepared early n placed it in a so called warm cabinet that doesn't keep anytime warm. Curry puff,not puffy at all almost flaten,it was soggy not at all crispy n t filling kind of wet n mediocre taste(buy from pasar malam is much much better). Again they prepared way in advance n put it in t warm cabinet. Pretty sad I'll comes back only for their apple pie/tart or maybe I'll try their other tartelette n very hot coffee(definitely not from ikea but from mamak store, Hopefully they will allowed) Someone commented about t briyani lamb shank being served cold n for Rm44 Thank God didn't order it. Ikea terbrau pls pls take pride in serving hot...

I'm not sure why people always say crappy things about Ikea food... but personally this is a real guilty pleasure. I think coming here is fun, and I also enjoy the food they serve. They have a great selection of cakes and sweet treats, and also they have a lot of healthy options like salads and wraps. And of course... my favourite Ikea meatballs. The portion size is generous too... 16 meatballs in one serving. Sorry if I am biased, but to me everything on this plate is perfection . I always have fond childhood memories of Ikea Restaurant over the years and even up till today I still love eating here. The staff here were all very pleasant, every single person serving customers had a big smile on their face. The cashier too was very charming and lovely. The dining area is clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. They serve water not in plastic bottles... but in easily recyclable aluminium cans. Another win for Ikea. Well done. And of course, the great value for money. I had a great, filling lunch for under RM20. And I would rather come here and have a nice quiet meal over any of the hipster cafes...
