I came across this Very Unusual Speakeasy-Styled Restaurant in a TikTok Video actually and thought it looked Super Unique. The Main Entrance of this place is a Hidden Secret Door purposefully built into a Fake Bookshelf!
Upon entering, I can totally see why its being described as a Faux Speakeasy because the Furnishings within had a Very Atas and Posh look that looked like an Interesting Fusion Blend of both Malay 马来风味 and Old School 1920s? Western Style.
Its a Very Large Restaurant comprising of 2 Levels with an Ornate Looking Spiral Staircase leading to the Top. (There are No Elevators) The Lightings within have a Dimmer Look and totally looks like some Exclusive Gentleman's Club. I felt as if I had Time Travelled and stepped into a Past Bygone Era. The Whole Renovation totally looks like an Atas Level of Alcoholic Lounge although they don't serve any Alcohol here.
The Music Background they played was originally some Modern American Hip-Hop which didn't quite fit the Ambience of the Place, although they did switch to more Instrumental Classical Music halfway. I suspect they did it because there were Children when I visited and this was to prevent them listening to any Potential Explicit Lyrics. I thought this was quite a Nice Touch by them. I would be Completely Floored had they played the Classic Godfather Movie Theme though!
What I found strange was their QR Code Ordering Menu that strictly requires only a Malaysian Phone Number to order. There is No Workaround. Being a Tourist, of course I couldn't proceed and had to seek a Staff Member for assistance. He literally had to request to take my Mobile Phone and input his own Mobile Number into it. If you are someone who dislikes a Complete Stranger touching your Mobile Device, you might want to take note of this.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At a Total Combined Price of RM45.85 (S$14.00) on the Final Bill for Everything I ordered even with Services Charges included, this was Definitely Worth Every Penny both in terms of Ambience and Taste of the Foods. Heck, depending on the Options you choose, even an Upsized SG McDonalds Meal already cost more than this!
Everything from the Theatrical Aspect of it, specifically constructing a Literal Secret Door Main Entrance, to the Lavish, Posh and Atas Retro Faux Speakeasy Style Furnishings, to the Quiet Dignified Polite Poise of the Staffs to their Well-Designed and Delicious Dishes impressed me Very Much.
I can totally understand why this Place is so Highly Raved on Google Maps. I haven't even mentioned that they are so Dedicated, that every Google Review has a Reply from them with the Owner himself (Mr Akmyr) seemingly personally handling some of the Unfavourable Reviews with Tact and Grace. This is Next Level Impressive Indeed.
With this Amount of Effort and Customer Service that they are Clearly Displaying, this Restaurant EASILY gets my Highest Top Score. This is a Restaurant that knows what they're doing, and More Importantly Takes Pride in what they are doing. Most Excellent.
If you are here in Larkin, I Definitely Highly Recommend this Very Unique Posh and Atas (and Affordable) Restaurant to give this a Try. It was a Real Pleasure to dine here indeed!

Read moreI understand this is a new outlet but jibril ss15 relatively have the same crowd its manageable. Seems like its a rush decision to open a restaurant with untrained and short of staff. Your staff manners is good but very, lost. Really hope it’ll survive these hay day as this is the only outlet in johor. Several pointers i hope helps to improve:
The butter chicken is good however: Please manage your queueing customers: like pizza mansion, they’ll ask customer to write on a clipboard for their name, number of pax and phone number so whenever their table is ready they can enter the store, while waiting they can wait in the car as you guys didnt provide outdoor seating. I was ahead of the line with several other but your staff ask “siapa datang dulu?” Anyone can cut my que and ada makcik ni did raise her hand actually, her audacity. Glad another staff saw that I did came first before her.
And also some famous cafe like kenny hills etc, they do have a sitting time e.g. customers are allowed for up to 1 hour and a half per table.
Other option; do reservation for weekdays, walk in only for weekend as its so much easier to manage customers when you have limited table and staff.
Drinks in app menu: creative name with no description. PLEASE include description when its not a general drink like coke or water. How should i know that your potter 2.0 is mix with spices that three of us cant drink at all. It’s definitely not a butterbeer, not even a slightest hint of butterscotch in it. Plus its very, plain (tawar). We only took a sip and truthfully, disgusted by it. When we wanna ask your staff everyone was so busy running around no one could entertain.
Please hire more staff, and a diligent manager, if you take care of your customer well, especially those that line up hours for you, they will come again.
For me, i’ll wait for these faze to cool off before coming again. Or not. Really depends on how the owner respond and future reviews. Other local JB hawkers also make an excellent butter chicken to be fair. All the best nonetheless, hope this outlet won’t be...
Read moreI've heard the hype of this restaurant from tic tok. So I can only tell the truth about my experience that my family and I felt on 22.06.24
Atmosphere and ambiance Entrance was to die for, with its Hidden book like shelving unit and book exterior mislead surface it's a joy to me. Clever and mischief at the same time. It makes my Aunty question where's the entrance... Hahaha interior nice wall paper with a hind of vintage vibe, dark yet elegant very alluring. Nice soothing music that is inviting yet every interesting. My thoughts thru the whole process for my eyes, excitement towards the whole experience is indulging.
Staff and services The receiver 1st contact We come in a group of 7 person. We were received with a welcome that is a little too sensible, he just said "hi how many person". At first glance, I thought it's just that they are busy due to the hype of the restaurant. little that I know... it's sad when it comes to the whole service I think that they can do much better. Greetings can be improved, servers standing around and talking with each other. I think with the deco and interesting experience of the building, the customer service such contrasts with the whole theme.
Food, plating and taste well my heart bounced back with the taste of the food itself. I'm amazed with all the food that was being served to us. One after another the plates makes me feel that I am immersed with a new taste in my mouth. compliment to the chef, you just safe the day.
Overall experience I would say that I give a four star due to the service, the restroom was clean, nice ambience interesting entrance and most of all great food. I will say this I will go back to this restaurant just to experience a different type of service.... I hope that they will read this review so that they can make the improvement... And I hope you guys give the chance to have the great joy and experience like I do kudos Jibril.. May Allah SWT bless the owner and team with a abundance...
