Been here many times. I love their food and their service is top speed as it doesn’t take long before you get served. Unfortunately the recent incident made me stopped visiting this place. There’s this uncle with a whistle in his mouth who is always outside the premise handling traffic and people coming in n out of the parking spot. I parked my car as usual, went for a takeout and came back to my car. When I entered my car, I saw this pakcik coming towards my car and immediately knocked at my window. I didn’t want to roll my window nor open the door so I just stared at him hoping for him to go away because I honestly didn’t think there was any problem and I was extremely uncomfortable with him waiting outside my car like that. Then to my surprise, he opened my door without my consent! I was so surprised that I scolded him to not do that without permission. If people refuse to open their door, why do you forcely open the door? What he did was wrong and a few days later, I told the owner of the premise who happened to be this other pakcik always hanging out at the front counter about the incident and frustratingly, he didn’t see the seriousness of this issue and defended that man and kept making excuses for him. I decided to stop going there and unless the owner takes this case seriously, I wouldn’t risk of going to that place because I refuse to meet that whistle uncle. He seriously creeps me out and to the owner, do not defend your family if what they...
Read moreSecond time here and they didn’t disappoint! The queue is always long but I don’t mind it as much because the service is fast. I noticed that there were three different people serving the customers with the food they ordered hence, the waiting time wasn’t that long.
There are different kinds of breakfast food including Johor dishes like nasi ambeng etc. that you can try! They also have kuih muih sold near the cashier.
We had nasi lemak with a sunny side-up egg, bihun soto & a plate of fried tempeh & fritters. The sambal was slightly on the sweet side and soto soup and the kicap lada was a bit bland on its own, a pinch of salt would definitely elevate the whole dish. The fritters imo was the winner of the day! All in all, the food price was fairly reasonable.
The place itself is quite busy even during weekdays. You might want to have a person sitting at the table while you queue for the food if you are only two...
Read moreThe food we ordered is generally nice though could be nicer.
One big piece lempeng with sambal & choice of curry or asam pedas. Probably it would be better with few small pieces and sambat tumis anchovies instead.
Lontong is nice with Serunding kelapa!! And a ladleful of satay gravy i believe.
The paru goreng and ayam goreng are delicious as it is fried with good mix of spices and curry leaves.
Their signboard indicate ‘Authentic Johor dishes’ so what they sell could be similar across Malaysia & Singapore, please eat with open mind and don’t expect the same taste & texture as what you have back home.
It seems they sell the full menu though the kueh was sold out fast. I gave 4stars for the food because it’s not warm.
Atmosphere - if there is long Q it will never be of good atmosphere because u will feel the pressure to eat fast and leave...
