Review of Nanyang Street Nine Station ⭐⭐⭐☆☆
We stumbled upon this place by chance and were initially quite excited — but that excitement faded quickly after tasting the food.
Here’s what we ordered: Prawn Paste Fried Chicken – Made to order, but the flavour of prawn paste was barely noticeable. Chicken and Pork Satay – Nicely grilled, but the taste didn’t quite resemble the satay we’re used to in Singapore. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t to my liking. Fried Omelette – We ordered the prawn and oyster omelette, but what arrived looked more like fried carrot cake with prawn and oyster mixed in. Claypot Noodles – The highlight of the meal! Served piping hot in a claypot, the noodles stayed warm throughout and were quite enjoyable.
There are still several other stalls we didn’t get to try this time, so we might consider coming back to explore more...

What to order:
Claypot noodles - get the signature one if you like curry l cuttlefish, if not the regular one will do.
Fried Seafood Noodles - very good for people who like savoury salty food. Lots of prawns and squid.
Curry Mee - tastes pretty good but we didn't get see hums (I think no stock). There's wee bit of Indian curry taste as compared to our nonya curry in Singapore.
Stir Fried Lala with Spices and Chilli - plump and yummy, we love it
The buns looked good but we didn't try it this time.
The BBQ seafood should be pretty good but we didn't order them as the kids can't really...
Read moreThe biggest pain point I have for this location is the price transparency. When we ordered the steamed fish and the grilled prawns, there were quite a few back and forth in determining the pricing. The way that the pricing was determined did not evoke a sense of confidence that the pricing was consistent especially when we are not locals.
For food wise, fairly decent so nothing much to highlight here.
For atmosphere, it was not a favourable location for me as there was no clear demarcation of smoking and non smoking dining areas so I did not have a good dining experience. In addition, the seating area is just right next to the road so the fancy cars blazing past with their engines...
