Would give ZERO stars if possible. Classic example of a restaurant that made its name and then the service and attitude becomes absolutely atrocious simply because your business doesn’t matter that much anyway.
The restaurant was full except for a table near the outside and a few tables inside. We requested for a table inside (which, was not that big) because we have had bad experiences with people smoking just outside restaurants whereby the stench drifts inside.
Instead, auntie bosses arrogantly proclaimed that the inner tables for bigger groups and reserved for “placing soup”, and assured us that no such smoking problem would occur. Literally a minute after that, a smoker stepped outside the restaurant sure enough the stench wafted in. Although we raised this issue up, they scoffed at us and said there was no such problem.
The whole time and in a span of 3 minutes in the restaurant, we were asked multiple times to order. And that’s all they care about, even though we asked them to wait. We promptly got up and left, and would never return. Hope everyone thinks twice before deciding on this restaurant with horrendous and...
Read moreWent in a Monday evening. At 7pm, we got the last table but fish sold out, all veg except sweet potato leaves and bok choy were sold out. At 7.55pm overheard the kitchen say noodles sold out, everything sold out. Wow!
Taste wise, after trying all the other San Lou Bee Hoon restaurants which claim to be related to the original, this is the best. Smoky wok heat from the get go, it goes very well with the chilli sauce. The prawn paste chicken was quite ordinary. We wanted to order salted egg sotong but they only had the deep fried version. This one was surprisingly very well done. The garlic fried sweet potato leaves was nice but serving was too small. Sweet and sour ribs was also good.
Note: Serving of bee hoon is very small. Each large size plate of bee hoon may be enough for two to three persons only. And they don’t take reservations.
Total damage was only RM158 and even considering we had no seafood, it was quite affordable.
Definitely coming again but this time we will do lunch and not on Monday when they have not had a chance to replenish their ingredients after a...

After waiting for 20 min and seeing how people who were behind our queue had their food served, I went to asked them when is my food arriving? The waiter then checked and said the waitress did not send the order in.
So we waited. About 5-10min, bee Hoon and fried squid was served.
Waited for another ten min, the last dish - prawn paste chicken was not served too so I told them to cancelled this dish.
