Pork Intestine Noodles 肥肠粉 = RM18.90 Braised Duck Necks 鸭脖子 = RM10.00 Service Charge = RM0.87

Travelling around JB, I'm surprised to see a Wuhan Restaurant near the KSL Area. Was so looking forward to try Wuhan's Specialty 武汉热干面 (Hot Dry Noodles) and imagine my disappointment when this dish is not even in their menu.

Red Flag Number 1: How can a Restaurant that calls itself Wuhan, not have 热干面? Their excuse was "It's not sold everyday" which I'm gonna have to call Bullsh*t on that. Hahaha, that's like going to a Singapore Tze Char Stall, that don't sell Chilli Crab.

This Dish is so integral to Wuhan that during the Covid Pandemic, there was a Song being written to encourage the people of Wuhan, and 热干面 was specifically mentioned within. To be fair, I myself have never been to Wuhan and never tasted the real 热干面 before, although I have made it, so I really wanted to compare my version to the Real Thing.

Red Flag Number 2: Moving on, while the guy who served me was very Courteous and Friendly, I noticed every staff within are all Local Malaysian Chinese and None of them are China Chinese. Such a big difference compared to 沙县小吃 in Danga Bay which I reviewed previously whose Owners were from China Nanjing. As such, I don't think this place is very authentic.

Braised Duck Necks 鸭脖子 = RM10.00

Since the Restaurant has 鸭脖子 (Duck Necks) in its name, I order a dish to try. I couldn't believe my eyes when they literally took a pre-packaged box of Duck Necks from outside the Restaurant and handed it to me. THIS is their so called 正宗武汉鸭脖子?? For a Dish that is literally their "招牌菜", and they don't even serve it on a Proper Plate? 招牌上如此显眼地展示了鸭脖，但上菜时却连一个像样的盘子都没有?

Seriously not impressed with the Duck Necks. They're Cold, Little Bits of Meat are Tough and Chewy, and although have a Strong Braised Taste, this is nothing special compared to a Similar Braised Shop in Singapore. Its definitely meant as a 下酒菜. But I really wouldn't bother with such a Bland Quality. I can't believe this is their 招牌菜.

Now when their 肥肠粉 was served up, I am much more impressed. This Dish was recommended by the Serving Chap.

Its a Seriously Big Bowl and there is a faint smell of Pork Intestines wafting from it. Noodles and Intestines portions are generous and the Intestines are cut small. The Soup Broth looks Mala, but its not Mala at all. In fact it has a very Strong Taste of Tau Cheo. This is a Very Savoury Soup with a Strong Tau Cheo Braised Taste. 好汤.

I LOVE the Noodles. They have a very Soft and Smooth Texture that slides down your throat easily. This is Good Quality Noodles. So Soft and Tender. That said, some of them are clumped together which tells me that this Noodle is probably from a Package, not Handmade and they did not bother to really make sure the Noodles are loosened before boiling.

Intestines here have a Strong Piggy Taste although not as Obscene as the Pork Noodle Soup I had in Austin. They have a Soft and Milky Texture.

This 肥肠粉 is a very Simple Dish. It really is just Broth, Noodles, Intestines and a few Veggies. Yet they work together very well. The Broth is the Soul of the Dish and really carries everything. Its so Oily with 红油, yet the Broth doesn't taste Spicy or Oily. In fact I'm amazed that I could easily finish the Whole Large Bowl even though I wasn't exceptionally hungry that time. I reckon the Super Smooth Noodles helped alot too. Amazing.

This 肥肠粉 and the Courteous and Polite Serving Chap single-handedly lifted the score of this place. I was so ready to give a Not Recommended Score for this given all the Red Flags there were. But at least this sits at an Average Score for me.

While this is probably not an Authentic Wuhan Restaurant, I can definitely recommend to try the 肥肠粉 at this place. Don't bother with their 鸭脖子 (Duck Necks), they're a waste of money.

First time here tonight, ordered pig intestine noodle as recommended by menu. Price isn't at all cheap at RM19. Noodle is bad, it's the white laksa noodle but too fat & mushy for my liking(proper Chinese uses handmade noodles). The soup broth lacked flavor.

When I asked for a change, owner had a backwards minded approach to service: thinking we are trying to eat for free by asking for a change. I gave them a chance to do right but they chose small profit instead & lose future goodwill ... even force us to pay for it with SERVICE charge for full bowl of...

The 1st time we visited this place, food we ordered was OK. We went for their 'Kou Sui Ji' aka Saliva chicken. The 2nd time there, the Kou Sui ji was horrible. The chicken meat was very dry and tasteless.. and disintegrated. Looked and tasted like left-over chicken from chicken stock. The "chilli oil" was just just some soy sauce with some cut chilli. Never going back...
