This place is good for people with no high standards just simple sleep in will do.
However there's some points to highlight. I know this is a budget accommodation but you guys don't maintain the basic facilities at all. The wall can re-paint /touch up a bit on the stains part but you choose to do nothing. It's ok la you want to affect your rating right? The partial wall painting part could have done on non peak period yearly which shouldn't be much issue.
Secondly simple things like mirror you can clean with a cloth after every check out , how hard is that? These minor things increase the likelihood of people returning if you have done it. Budget accommodation doesn't mean don't clean things that suppose to be clean.
Now this I'm talking is a big RED FLAG.
They have common fridge where everyone share. So nice of this place to offer this public fridge but I personally feel it's not that hard too to maintain weekly cleaning?
When I first opened the fridge I see black dots everywhere. Upon looking at it closer it's dead flies. How the dead flies get trapped there in the first place?

Read moreLet’s talk about bait and switch for a moment. Show up, ask to see a room. Showed an empty, unoccupied room. Asked price. Got quotation. Didn’t have cash. Asked if they accept card. They do not. Booked room on their website. Paid by card.||Then the front desk uncle says that he never received the booking. Doesn’t care that I have a confirmation screen showing and a corroborating credit card transaction.||Paid the booking on their official site. He watched me punch my card into PayPal. 🤦🏽♂️ SMH.||I sit and hold my ground and he tells me there’s a room at the sister property which is 1km away (incidentally it sells for 20% less and when I ask, they aren’t inclined to refund my money).||He drives me there (kinda nicer than telling me to hit the road) and dumps me off. The uncle at the other property is a bit more affable.||Today’s experience at HomeStay 21 is one I would never want to have again. At least I have a room for tonight but it makes me wonder if I would ever consider coming back to this city.||It seems that the hotels in JB are simply shady.
