This is a 2 Levels Air-Conditioned ❄️ Modern Cafe that is nicely renovated to have a Classic Retro Look. The 1st Level is the Actual Cafe, while the 2nd Level is used like some Event Space to support Local Community Events. 🤔
The Cafe itself is run by Young Staffs in their 20s? They were Friendly, Polite and mostly keep to themselves. What impressed me as you can see in the Photo, is that they bake their Own Breads here. 👨🍳🍞 Admittedly not all Breads, only their BKT Infused ones. It was a pity I only knew of this AFTER my Meal or I would have tried it for the Review. 😅
Understandably because its a Weekday Morning when I was there, there weren't any Customers other than me. 🤔 Very Quiet Cafe Ambience with Soft Piano Pieces playing in the Background. 🎵🎶

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
Because this is a Modern Cafe, all the Prices are Priced like a Cafe. Yes, that means Not Cheap. 💵🤔
At the Price of RM10.00 (S$3.04) for the Lemongrass Ginger Tea, 🍵 this is definitely not worth the Price 🤔 because what you're paying for is just a Tea Bag with Hot Water. 🤔 Had they used Actual Ingredients to brew this, I would have no issues.
At the Price of RM3.00 (S$1.00) for the Vanilla Ice-Cream and Top up RM5.00 (S$1.60) for a Total price of RM8.00 (S$2.60) is also Not Say Cheap but is still 勉强 a Reasonable Price to ask for this. 🍨🤔
Although doesn't taste Homemade, the Vanilla Ice-Cream also doesn't taste like its some Cheap Supermarket Product. 👍 Probably a Better Brand they used? Decent Quality. The Braised Sauce itself doesn't taste Exactly like BKT, more like 卤水鸭 Braised Duck Gravy actually. 🦆🤔 You do need to have the Expectation that this Sauce is probably a Pre-Mix and is not Homemade by themselves. 🤔
This is a Either Love it or Hate it Dish and is More for People who can accept Contrasting Tastes. 😅 People who are ok with the taste of McDonalds French Fries with Ice-Cream 🍟🍨 would probably take to this better. I am personally ok with this Taste myself and I'm impressed with the Creativity shown here. 👍 Never knew Braised Sauce can pair this Decently with Ice-Cream. 🍨
At the Price of RM4.90 (S$1.50) for the BKT Chawanmushi is a Decent Price. 👍 Among all the Dishes I've tried, this Combo feels like the Best because both Components are Savoury and they pair together well. 😋
At the Price of RM8.00 (S$2.50) for this BKT Tart is less that S$1.00 for each, but these were Very Small Tarts. 😅 Again, this is a Contrasting Taste sort of Dish like their BKT Ice-Cream although the Sweet Component is Very Much Subdued compared to the Savoury. 🤔 I don't have much issues with it as I am also ok with this. 😅 Think of it like eating a Digestive Biscuit with some Lor Zhup is what this tastes like. If that sounds ok to you, sure go ahead. 😅
At the End of the Day, this Eatery is not the type of Place that you go to fill you up. For me, this was a Very 吃玩玩 type of Place. 😅 If you are looking for Absolute Value and Bang for your Buck, this is not the type of Place for you. 🙅♂️ In fact, among all the Places I've visited in Klang, this one actually feels the Most Touristy. 😅 The Place also didn't have any Customers throughout the Whole Time I was there during a Weekday.

Read moreUnexpected Flavours at Play Klang C³afe: Bak Kut Teh Ice Cream and More! Trigger warning: This might cause some shock, but we just tried our first Bak Kut Teh Flavour Ice Cream at Play Klang C³afe! Intrigued? Keep reading to find out our thoughts. Located in an almost 100-year-old pre-war shop lot right across from Klang KTM station, Play Klang C³afe is a charming spot that mixes history with creative cuisine. This cosy café has been reinventing the classic bak kut teh for years, making this beloved meat-and-herbal soup accessible to everyone. Their motto is simple and inviting: Now everyone can enjoy bak kut teh! What makes their bak kut teh special is that it’s pork-free, perfect for those who don’t eat pork. Originating from Klang, their bak kut teh takes adventurous turns by transforming into dishes like pasta, risotto, and even ice cream – yes, ice cream! We decided to try their Bak Kut Teh Flavour Pasta, Bak Kut Teh Risotto, Bak Kut Teh Flavour Chawanmushi, and the daring Bak Kut Teh Ice Cream. The Bak Kut Teh Flavour Pasta is a delightful twist on carbonara, complete with a poached egg and tender chicken chunks. It’s rich, creamy, and savoury, making it hard to leave any leftovers. The Bak Kut Teh Risotto is just as impressive, with its creamy texture and bold spices that blend perfectly with the herbal flavours. Both dishes deliver the authentic bak kut teh taste without being overwhelming. We also tried the Bak Kut Teh Flavour Chawanmushi, a Japanese steamed egg custard. It was smooth and delicate, infused with the savoury notes of bak kut teh, creating a comforting and unique dish that stood out on our table. The creator behind these inventive dishes explained that the goal was to make bak kut teh available to everyone, especially tourists from Muslim countries like Turkey who can’t enjoy the traditional pork version. Bak kut teh is an important part of Klang’s culture, and by reinventing it, they’re preserving this heritage in a way that everyone can enjoy. Now, onto the star of our review: the Bak Kut Teh Ice Cream. This creamy vanilla-based dessert is certainly bold. The first bite might leave you puzzled, but as you keep eating, the flavours become more complex. We found it a bit bitter, especially with the addition of scallions (green onions, aka "chung"), which added an unexpected bitterness to the ice cream. A sweeter sauce might balance it better. So, we’ll pass on the Bak Kut Teh Ice Cream if we visit again, but it’s definitely an adventurous choice! Thankfully, everything else we tried was delicious and full of flavour. The pandan flavoured coffee was creamy and fantastic, a perfect way to end our meal. Play Klang C³afe offers a memorable dining experience with its creative take on traditional dishes and its cosy, historic setting. Whether you’re a fan of bak kut teh or just looking to try something new, this café is...
Read moreHorrible experience and service level from a bunch of young inexperienced waitress / wait staff. Went there for lunch. We are a Group of 4 was outside at their counter and all their 4 stsff was also outside and saw us but never said anything. So we said 4 pax. Yet they were quiet and did not acknowledge us. So we decided to jsut enter and as we entered the door of the restaurant, the staff shouted at us in chinese :- CANNOT ENTER. We were taken aback and immediately backed off.
Then the girl said - take menu first.
So we entered and thought the stsff would direct us to our table or what. But no, they gave us the menu and left us to go in. We had to wonder if we are supposed to seat at the back without air con and fan and no one or if we "can" climb up the stairs, in case we get another screaming from the staff. Eventually we went up and seated upstairs..
No one came to attend to us. There was no bell to get the stsff to come up etc. So iwent down with our order chit to place our order. YET AGAIN, the staff did not acknowledge and jsut stared. Then as I passed the chit to them and wanted to go back up, they stopped and insisted I pay at the counter first which I did not bring down my phone or bag from the second floor. Eventually they bring the QR upstairs for me to make payment.
Food took extremely long to come considering there was no other patrons. About 15 minutes and food came one after another. Instead of same time or similar timing so that we can finish all at the same time.
Food was mediocre (the mash pottato from the roasted chicken was totally a missed) + the above average price (no complementary water since the price is not cheap) + absolutely horrendous service from the staff, one can give it a miss.
While I appreciate the shop promoting klang and bah kutt Teh, the owner should really train their staff to have basic service level and greetings.
No second time for me and honestly, don't have to waste your time. The food is...
