Instagramable deco with attentive & good service and stunning food presentation
The Chinese theme is nicely executed that you are immediately transported into an ancient Chinese restaurant. If you are not, just put on the period Chinese costumes prepared and voilà, you are instantly a warrior of Shu kingdom (only female costume available)
If you are prepared to spend RM 600 & above, you are entitled to use their private room. We were seated in the main dining hall at first, upon checking with the wait staff, we requested to move into a private room and our request was cordially accorded
The wait staff was attentive and moving in and out of our room numerous times not only to deliver our food but to top up the soup/ tea and clearing used plates
Wait staff is also commendable for their attitude when receiving our feedback on food quality
Glad to get generous serving of deep fried bread with banana for opting to celebrate birthday at their restaurant. We are grateful for the nice gesture although we were all agreeable that the banana filling could be more for a more satisfying experience
Food presentation is excellent and you are not going to leave without shots worth posting on social media if that's your cup of tea. Definitely a winning point compared to food served in canteen used plastic container in another famous chain
The beef and pork slice combo served on round wooden board definitely has a stunning look. However, the moisture of meat is absorbed by the soft wooden board over time and that affects the quality and freshness of the meat. This poses health threat and we ended up with dried up meat slices towards the end of our meal
Noticed that the meat slices are placed flat on the board instead of rolled before placing on the board as shown on the menu photo. Rolled slices would minimize the contact of the meat and the wooden board, slowing down the speed of moist being absorbed. I'd urge the management to seriously look into this and ensure the presentation to adhere the photo...
Read moreFound this new hotpot place. The brand has been there for quite a while but didn't bother to go find out since I have my go to place.
This, will be my new go to hotpot place.
The soup fits my taste (love the strong soup taste) The mushroom soup without putting any meat in, is already tasty by itself as compared to other hotpot, you need to cook some meat only it will be tasty.
Condiment is always filled and counter is always clean
Food quality and ingredient is fresh. Love those meat portion as well
One thing I really have to give thumbs up, is service. Constantly there's a staff at our table always pouring tea for us, clearing all those empty plate so we can eat in comfort.
While we are busy cooking and filling our mouth with spicy food and drank a lot of tea, the staff will always fill our tea cup. I realise I put up lesser hand in this restaurant asking for waiter service as...
Read moreVery nice ambience and great service! Staff were very attentive and friendly. Lots of choices of meats, veggies, etc in the menu. We tried their Mala soup in "mild", which was already very spicy. Would really recommend their crispy fried rice cake with brown sugar - very, very good and very addictive. There's also some traditional hanfu that you can wear while you dine, which is great fun and perfect for pictures.
EDIT 31/10/2022: Came here again because I was craving their fried rice cakes with brown sugar. Thank you, Kelvin, for the wonderful service and recommendations!
EDIT 19/3/2023: Shu DaXia has become our favourite hotpot place among my friend circle, and we come here every month. Great food and great service always, and always made welcomed by Kelvin and the rest...
