Thought I'd check out what the hype was about and paid Cafe Kitsune a visit at TRX Exchange Mall. There was no queue at all as I had anticipated and was seated instantly.
Cafe Kitsune looked like a cafe that was run by part time students, which was surprising. The franchise owner must be quite stingy as they didn't even bother to invest in uniforms for the staff. The staff wore a Cafe Kitsune aprons over their own black t-shirts that had football club badges and logos of other companies. I would accept this if it was a roadside stall but it wasn't. Maybe they are trying to achieve that all-inclusive look but I am sure that it's just because staff uniforms cost money.
Service was extremely slow. I felt like time froze when I was waiting for my order. I looked at my watch and it was almost 20 minutes until my Matcha Latte arrived. This was when there were very few customers. I immediately understood why there is a long queue here sometimes. To make things worse, there was a loudmouth lady with a very irritating voice talking non-stop all the time to add to my misery. The torture was intense and so hard to bear. I'd much rather be skinned and boiled alive. Thankfully, she left. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
The cakes and drinks here are not bad but totally not worth the wait. Some people don't mind wasting time for food or drinks but time is money, so I mind.
Also, this was the first cafe that I have been to that doesn't provide serviettes with drinks and cakes. When asked, the staff pointed to a side table which had probably 10 sheets of serviettes. The franchise owner is very stingy, like I said.
Although that little fox is cute, the drinks and cakes are nice, I'd much rather go to the other Matcha places in...
Read moreI was one of the early customers today, arriving at 10.15am on a Saturday. Cheerfully greeted by Hafiq, he ushered me to my seat and explained the menu. I liked the overall outlook of the cafe, from the walls to the selection of chairs. I ordered their Matcha Mango Latte (RM 21). I was informed that this is only available in Malaysia. The matcha -mango combination is actually nice and refreshing. I do recommend this. I also ordered the Egg Sando (RM 24). Basically this is an egg sandwich. Yes, they are pretty generous with their egg filling but I find the bread quite dry. Perhaps because I prefer heavier taste, I find the egg sando on the bland side. If you like your sandwich filled with thicker mayo/dips then you will find the sandwich a bit on a let down. The Matcha Kitsune (RM 8) is buttery and crunchy. You must order this. I might be back to try other items...
Read moreVisiting Café Kitsuné for the first time after seeing numerous influencer endorsements on Instagram set my expectations quite high. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the cafe’s polished and stylish atmosphere, which lives up to the hype and provides a chic backdrop for a leisurely visit.
However, when it came to the food and drinks, they were on par with what you’d find at any good cafe—satisfactory but not exceptional. While the offerings were well-prepared and enjoyable, they didn’t surpass the typical cafe quality that would elevate the experience to match the establishment’s aesthetic appeal.
Overall, Café Kitsuné offers a lovely environment for those looking to enjoy a coffee or meal in a trendy setting, though the culinary experience aligns with standard café offerings. A solid four-star experience for its ambiance and...
