Update: 02 Nov 2025 Bringing family outing. Taste & service as usual very good & friendly
Update: 02 May 2025 After retrying others when did the meal at Hotbird. Seems the “others” (no matter top brand or not) does not have the “umph” taste as hotbird… Its like for durian, when tasted a musang king, other durian will not taste as good even its a blacktorn… That’s my view of the hotbird chicken set 😻😻😻 and definitely the peanut butter milkshake is a must try
28 Feb 2025 Before the fasting month, getting some to stop craving during the coming month. This time took the Burn Baby Burn and Mild, as expected, taste is as previous - quality and taste maintained. The staff also were kind enough to let me have a mixture of spice level. Previously did went for the “reaper” to share, all of us were “crying” when started to eat a pitch of the outer layer. So for Reaper, it was the 1st and last… But for other spice level can be repeated. Today noticed a few customer doing some review of the food in tgis joint.
Update: 13 Feb 2025 Came back during off peak hours to try the “Burn Baby Burn”, yes i do agree the chicken taste better. Hot was already spicey for me hence i was a bit relunctant. But to my surprise, the BBB was not so spicey as my expectation and the level of spiceyness was tolarate (meaning we can still enjoy the taste of the juicy chicken not like the other popular - numb the tastebud)…
So my go to to order here will be a mix of “mild hot” and “burn baby burn”…
24 Jan 2025 Came at a non pick hour. Place was crowded but there were still available seats. Staff were super helpful and attentative. For meal order, I noticed (as this is not my 1st time), it will take: about 10 ~ less 15min for order to be ready if order the fried chicken or tender set More than 15min for order to be ready if order the buffalo wings
For Chicken set, its is a mix on drumstick and thigh only.
For Tenders set, i think its from the chicken breast part.
For Buffalo wing (no set available) are wing part that consist of wing and its drumnet.
Overall, i like the chicken set as its juicy and price is more friendly than the wing as both taste are similar.
The fries i category them as "chips", they are one of the reason to come here. Their curly fries also are good but need to pay a but extra.
Coslow was nice, if has its own touch but i like to add a bit of their red honey sauce (need to pay add on) in it will make it more yummy. The red honey sauce also goes well with the chicken and fries when dip with their own comeback sauce.
Im a fan of strawberry milkshake, but not here as its too sweet. But their peanutbutter milkshake is good.
And i just knew, when review we...

Cold, unappetizing chicken – The chicken was served cold not even room temp, even though it wasn’t peak hours, there were more tables than customers, but somehow they still managed to serve me fried chicken so subpar it felt like an achievement in failure. It really felt like it was pre-cooked long ago and just reheated. The fat on the chicken had even solidified, which shows how cold it was. There was also a weird yellowish solid matter on the chicken that I couldn’t tell if it was solidified fat or uncooked flour spice mix, either way, it looked unappealing and was very off-putting. Definitely not the fresh, hot fried chicken experience I expected.
Terrible ordering system – Unlike other Hotbird outlets, this one has no cashier at all. Everything is done at self-service kiosks. The new membership app was a nightmare to set up, it took nearly 10 minutes with multiple verifications and annoying “prove you’re not a bot” puzzles. On top of that, there was no staff around to help with redeeming vouchers or guiding new customers. Unlike McDonald’s which has QR sign-ins, here you only find out after struggling, that you need to manually key in your phone number at checkout under the “account name” button. Very confusing and user-unfriendly.
Food and Drinks – Waiting time was reasonable for non peak hours, less than 10 minutes for my foods to be ready, the fries were actually decent, but the chicken completely ruined the meal. The Minute Maid orange drink also tasted way too sweet, almost like it was over-concentrated compared to the usual.
Atmosphere - Nothing special to highlight. Just feels like a basic fast-food joint, neither good nor bad.
Overall, the cold, unappealing chicken and frustrating ordering system made this one of my worst food experiences. Was a loyal fan and customer of Hotbird, since their first Uptown Damansara outlet, coming there week in and week out, until today where they expanded to 4 outlets. This is by far the worst experience I had at Hotbird. Won’t be coming back to this...
Read moreReviews of Fried Chicken Here are some glowing reviews that capture the magic of fried chicken: Review 1: The Perfect Crunch "Oh my goodness! This fried chicken is a symphony of textures. The skin is unbelievably crispy – each bite delivers a satisfying CRUNCH that gives way to the most tender and juicy meat inside. It's seasoned perfectly, with just the right amount of savory spices that make your taste buds sing. Forget your troubles; this chicken is pure comfort food elevated to an art form. A definite 10/10!" Review 2: Juicy and Flavorful "I've had a lot of fried chicken in my life, but this one stands out. The chicken is incredibly moist – not a hint of dryness. You can taste the quality of the chicken itself, enhanced by a subtle, flavorful marinade that goes right to the bone. The breading is light and allows the taste of the chicken to shine through. It's the kind of fried chicken that makes you close your eyes and savor every bite. Highly recommended!" Review 3: A Nostalgic Delight "This fried chicken tastes like pure nostalgia! It reminds me of family gatherings and home-cooked goodness. The crispy coating has that classic, slightly peppery flavor that I adore, and the chicken underneath is so tender it practically falls off the bone. It's simple, honest, and utterly delicious. If you're looking for that authentic fried chicken experience, look no further!" Review 4: Simply Irresistible "I'm not usually a huge fried chicken fan, but this has converted me! There's something truly special about it. Maybe it's the perfect balance of crispy and juicy, or perhaps it's the unique blend of herbs and spices. Whatever it is, it's absolutely irresistible. I found myself reaching for another piece even when I was full. Be warned: this fried chicken is addictive!" What kind of fried chicken are you in the mood for?
