Casa Rosa in Mont Kiara is a hidden gem which many food lovers are not aware of. Situated at The Pines Condominium, it is a favourite haunt for the Japanese and Korean residents who stay in Mont Kiara. This post is to let more people, especially those staying outside of Mont Kiara, know about this food outlet. For your information, the proprietor is the same as that of Jake Charbroil, a long time favourite with Kl food lovers. Although located in a Condominium, it is also open to non-residents and the beauty of it all, there is no parking problem, especially for lunch. So, what is good? The Lamb Shank is one of the best that I have tasted. However, it takes about half an hour at least to prepare this delicacy. The meat is tender with a tomato base sauce, but not too much to be overpowering. So, you can taste the tomato with added spices to take away the strong smell of the meat. The combination of the spices and tomato sauce in the gravy is just perfect, even for those who are not a fan of lamb. For those who are not lamb lovers, fret not as the Charbroil Chicken is also highly recommended and is available for Set Lunch with coffee and dessert thrown in. The chicken is just perfectly tender and melts in your mouth. Do not take my word for it. Tag someone or a group to go there for lunch or dinner in a cozy and nice ambience. You do not have to worry about what to eat as they have an extensive menu to cater for everyone's taste bud....
Read moreThe worst birthday celebration for husband and sister last night spoilt by the worst ever paella and the rude male supervisor. To be fair the starters we ordered ie onion rings, squid rings, smoked duck rolls and sweet potato fries were good. 3 of us ordered steaks and all gave a rating of below average. The other mains we ordered ie Texan beef burger and Linguine with smoked salmon were quite good. The worst was Paella Valencia El Pollo. When it was served, all eyes were rolling. It just didn’t look like traditional paella that is served in most other restaurants. It came in a super hot heavy pan but not cooked in it. It looked like some fluffed rice with chicken pieces and green peas in it. The taste was weird. Took a spoonful and told the waitress it didn’t taste like paella. They took the dish back to the kitchen counter and I supposed they tried a spoonful. Then came back and told us there was nothing wrong with the paella except that it wasn’t cooked long enough and told us that they would cook it a bit longer. We told them we wanted to cancel the order but they refused. We told them to pack it for our dog to eat it then. We will never...
Read moreCosy place situated within Pines condo, worth making a trip here and to me it’s esp good when you come with a group. Can ask for their set menus. Easy for gathering as the service is good, you get to pre book the menu, parking is free and sufficient, basically parking is just outside. Food wise, the fresh oysters 🦪 are worth ordering. Succulent and tasted fresh. They have mb5 wagyu which is cook perfectly to my liking. Dessert is good, cashew brittle goes well with hot black coffee. If not preordering their sets, the ala carte menu is good as well, there is plenty of choices from appetizer, seafood, pasta and dessert. BYO your own wine if you like. Corkage I think is rm50 but pls give them a...
