Chongqing Chicken Hot Pot — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

My party of 4 order a medium pot of spicy chicken hotpot with a few additional vegetables and rice.

A large bowl of soup arrived and was heated with a flame to keep the soup hot throughout the meal. The original soup that arrived was rich and thick, almost the consistency of gravy than soup. At level 3 spiciness, the soup had a nice kick that made me break into mild perspiration 10 mins into the meal. It was pleasant and thankfully, tissue was provided.

As the flame was not particularly big, the ingredients in the pot did not get overcooked. The vegetables remained crunchy, and chicken tender.

Plain broth may be added at any point during the meal. However, the broth pales in comparison to the original soup that arrived, diluting the robust flavours. As you add more soup each time, the soup gets watered down to a point it becomes mildly flavoured spicy water. As such, I would suggest that you request for the broth to be added early in the meal so that you get more consistent flavours spread out across your meal, rather than having an amazing start and flat finish.

Price is reasonable if you order from the menu. The plated items in the fridge are slightly overpriced (refer to photos). Great value overall and I will definitely return...

Do not order delivery from them. The delivery time selected is 1.20pm, at 1.50pm, still no sign of the delivery. I had to WhatsApp and call them to chase for the status.

Called the store and all staff are foreigners, cannot speak English or Malay at all.

Explanation given through WhatsApp is: Lalamove problem and ask me to 体谅 them. I can 体谅 if they had handled this more professionally. When they know the order will be delayed, they should have called the customer and explain, not letting the customer wait without any clue. The owner do not sound apologetic too. Just keep asking me to understand their situation.

In the end, I had to arrange for my own rider from Grab Express to pick up and deliver the order. The question is again why the restaurant can't arrange for Grab to pick up if Lalamove not picking it up??? That's the basic of...

This is my 3rd time to dine-in this restaurant with my family because the food is very nice and we requested for not so spicy. The chicken meat are tender and tasty including the fresh ingredients too. The gravy is very addictive and appetising to eat together with rice.

Environment is clean and comfortable. Price is reasonable. The waiters are very helpful, friendly with excellent service.

Today I had an unexpected experience about my business mobile phone being left on the table till back home about an hour later. I went back to this restaurant and one of the workers said they kept the mobile phone at the reception's drawer. And the boss is very helpful and check for me immediately. Thank you very much for being so honest and really appreciated.
