Food Empire - MyTOWN Shopping Centre — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Came here a few nights ago for dinner and was fairly disappointed with the customer service at the drink station. First, the worker did not even acknowledge my presence nor ushered me to the cashier while I was mistakenly standing on one side of the counter to order. Not even a single glance at me. Secondly, why were the workers doing the closing shift even BEFORE 9.30 p.m.? I wanted to order Teh O ais Laici but they worker insisted that they did not have that. I knew for a fact that the reason was because they had kept away all the fruit cans so they couldnt be bothered. And third how is it okay to witness the worker ending his shift even before 9.30 just to see him happily having his sizzling yee mee RIGHT afterwards? Worst customer service ever. Not to mention the workers didnt even throw a smile, semua muka masam macam korang lah terpaling penat kerja. PLEASE take note on this, whoever in charge and fix your damn customer service skills. It was noon when I reached MyTown and parked on the 5th Floor of the shopping complex. I took the escalator and was at the Food Empire on the 3rd Floor. I had been to MyTown many time before but never had any meals at food empire. It is quite a big area with many tables and chairs/benches in the middle, while all the food stalls are located on all sides. Except, for the Teppanyaki stall, where guests eat at the table surrounding the open kitchen. I had Hot Vanilla tea. The service at the Drinks station was swift, with a smile. But the tea was too sweet for me. I had a Nasi Lemak Bungkus at RM2.50 and some Kuih Nyonya at RM3.50 per pack. There are a lot of stalls selling local foods from Kelantan, Penang, while others sell Japanese Teppanyaki and Seoul Food from Korea. Guests are really spoilt for choice at Food Empire. Very poor service. The cook was extremely slow even though customers had already arrived. When I asked for my food to be prepared faster, that’s when they only started cooking. The cook wasn’t even wearing a mask and kept chatting with a friend who wasn’t a staff member. When another customer accidentally took my food — which was supposed to be mine — I asked for a replacement, but they refused because the cook was still busy talking. In the end, they gave me something else instead of my seafood tom yum. Really disappointing experience for a Thai & grilled fish restaurant.
