Salmon Sashimi (3 pcs RM16) First of all, you don’t put wasabi in a plastic container. Gordon Ramsey would be fuming with this sort of presentation.
Flavor wise, the wasabi is tasteless, and the soy sauce they used is the cheap & light type. Sashimi is average and next door Ichi Zen serves way better & higher quality sashimi.

Spicy miso soup with ramen (RM39) The spicy broth is actually decent. But the noodles feel like they are instant. Pork slices, leek, and side ingredients are put on a different plate and that’s the way it’s presented if you choose the most expensive version. The cheaper version would have everything in a ramen bowl. Weird choice of a presentation with a higher price point but okay.
Taste wise the pork cutlet is cold and overly salty.

IMHO The ramen scene in KL has a very high standard these days thanks to Ramen Bankara (Kiara 163) or Mitsuyado Seimen (Gardens Midvalley). If comparing these with the same price point, this shop definitely can’t make it.
And please it’s 2025. Please at least get your “Irasshaimase” right. If you can’t pronounce it right then don’t get your staff to say it at all. Just say hello or good evening it’ll be much more welcoming for your customers.
Suggest those looking for Japanese food to try next door neighbor Okonimi. The Japanese chef is wonderful and produce...

It claims to be a Michelin star rated place but I can't see it in the guide. https://guide.michelin.com/my/en/article/michelin-guide-ceremony/michelin-guide-kuala-lumpur-and-penang-97-restaurants-shine-in-the-first-edition-including-4-michelin-stars#:~:text=The%20MICHELIN%20Guide%20Kuala%20Lumpur,good%20food%20at%20moderate%20prices.
Maybe it's from the same brand in another location/country? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't believe it is Michelin worthy however.
I started with the salmon sushi with roe. The rice was beautiful and so was the salmon. This was a great way to start the night
I tried the miso char siu ramen with an added egg and some additional pork on the side. The whole meal was cooked beautifully with the soup tasting pretty good. The added egg really boosted the flavour and the pork was a very unique flavour. Almost a sour taste which I'm still not sure I'm a fan of. The meat was very fatty as well
This is definitely worth a look at and is quite well priced
Note they do ask guests to review for free ice cream as well. This is...
Read moreWent to Hokkaido Ramen Santouka Pavilion KL for lunch with my family and ordered several dishes. One of them was the premium pork cheek, served on a wooden base with a candle lit in the middle.
When it arrived, the presentation looked good — until we were horrified to see a cockroach crawling on the wooden base. We immediately alerted the staff (a supervisor, no less), and instead of handling it properly, he simply killed the cockroach with his bare hands and brushed it off, saying it was “fine” because it “came from the wood.”
He did say sorry, but the apology felt completely insincere, and he didn’t seem bothered at all by what had just happened. His only response was to suggest replacing the dish with a new one, which did nothing to address our concerns about hygiene. If there’s one cockroach on the serving base, it makes you wonder what’s happening inside the kitchen.
My family and I were utterly shocked and disgusted. For a restaurant inside Pavilion Mall under an international brand name, this kind of hygiene issue and dismissive customer service is completely...
