Sushi Zanmai Pavilion KL — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

We absolutely love Zanmai Sushi. We’ve been to this restaurant well over 30 times—I’ve lost count. The sushi here is amazing, but you’ll likely read plenty of comments about that. Instead, let me tell you about a hidden gems, for example, the Tsukimi soup. It’s an incredibly fulfilling dish, more delicious than any chicken ramen I’ve had in Kuala Lumpur. Try it for yourself. Get it with the chicken broth and ramen noodles—you won’t regret it.

Some of our all-time favorites are the Unadon, Ebidon, and definitely the Takoyaki. They serve the best Takoyaki we’ve ever had. The service here is also something to highlight. It’s always a pleasure to come back. Despite being in one of the busiest malls in Kuala Lumpur, where they’re constantly packed, they always serve food quickly, and the staff is incredibly friendly and humble. Even when you can see how exhausted they are after a long super crowded day, they never miss a beat—always attentive and kind, and they’ve never once forgotten an order.

This is a fantastic restaurant with amazing people. I have to give special applause to the chefs, who we only see from afar, but I always send them good vibes of gratitude and aspiration when tasting their incredible food. A KL Must-Visit: Sushi Zanmai Never Disappoints

Sushi Zanmai has become my absolute go-to destination every single time I visit Kuala Lumpur - and for good reason! This restaurant has consistently delivered exceptional Japanese cuisine that keeps me coming back for more.

An Outstanding Unagi Experience

On my latest visit, I ordered their unagi (grilled eel) and I can confidently say it was absolutely out of this world. What impressed me most was not just the incredible quality of the eel - which was perfectly grilled with that ideal balance of sweet and savory flavors - but also the generous portion size. You truly get excellent value for your money here.

The quality and quantity combination at Sushi Zanmai is unmatched in KL. The eel was tender, flaky, and glazed to perfection with their signature sauce. Every bite was a reminder of why this place has earned its spot as a KL institution.

I don’t even know how many times I come to Sushi Zanmai but it is my first time coming to Pavilion branch. It located at Japanese Street Level 5. When you arrived, you will be given table and scan code to make your order online.

I ordered salmon shashimi (M). The shashimi obviously is very fresh and you can eat with radish.

I also ordered various type of sushi which are tamago, chika ildako (seasoned octopus), they are normal sushi that you can get it from other sushi place.

Spicy salmon maki from Makimono menu is very worth to try and order. The price is very affordable. With huge of salmon chunk. Also cranky salmon maki, very fresh and crunch. (Both a must order)

From House Specialty I ordered spicy salmon roll, 6 pcs. Very delicious and crunchy because of fried imitate crab meat on top.

And lastly, from Nabemono menu, I ordered sukiyaki. Coming with the soup pot and beef slices. The soup is very refreshing and palate cleansing. After eating so much sushi.

For the drinks, for sushi place, always order the ice green tea. It cheap and refreshing. (Coming with big water pot)
