On 16 Dec at 2pm , decide to visit the restaurant at KL pavilion outlet with my parents and family for lunch. We notice there isn’t any much customer in the restaurant compared to other restaurant but we love ichiban boshi and a regular customer back in Singapore. We made our order thru a short hair lady who is wearing black and small in size. She had missed one of our order and understood from the waitress that the order submitted to the kitchen as a later time when they noticed that the order was missed. The missed order was not served and we had almost completed all our dinner. After I had made my payment, the order is then served. We requested for the missed order to be cancelled as we had all completed our meal and the order came only after we all completed and made the payment. The manager in black initially refused to cancel but we are firm that it came so late and we do not want to eat it anymore. Furthermore, we notice that the sashimi is not fresh with weird taste. The short hair lady in black so unhappy and started to show her tempered in front of me and then told off her waitress that she will be made to pay for the cancelled order. I am unhappy to see how the black uniform lady punish her staff and made her pay as it is not her fault. The waitress was force to pay and the manager asked her to write down the amount t and pay back later. I would think that the manager can better handle the situation but she made it so awful in front of the customer and show her tempered and altitude in front of the customer

I would think that she can waive this meal as it came late. She started to blame the waitress but it’s clearly not her fault who miss the order but she pushes all the blame to her staff. We paid our meal with taxes and service charge but she only refund me the price for the food without including the tax and service charge. I did not pursue more as it disgust me to she how she bully her staff to make her pay for her own mistake. I can be the witness if need to and the management can try to retrieve any cctv footage if possible so review the situation. The management can call me to understand more if need to. I hope this situation could be addressed to help that poor waitress as this is clearly the short hair black uniform lady mistake and she made her waitress in white paid for the refund. We had spend more than RM 800 ringgit for the food and understand there is some lucky draw event but the manager didn’t bother to also let us participate as well.

My son and my dad also started to fall sick after taking the sashimi. We suspect the sashimi is not fresh. We always visit Chiba Boshi and are regular customer in Singapore branches that the staffs would always recognised us in Nex branch.

It’s not our first time with ichiban boshi but it’s our worst experience ever in KL pavilion outlet with the unpleasant experience and the worst food quality as well.

We always enjoy our visit at Singapore nex branch and it always having good reviews but I notice not for the case in KL pavilion outlet.

Hope my feedback can ring the bell to the management to review this and improves as I always like to visit ichiban boshi with my...

Highly recommendif you like to wait for more than 20mins to get your hot food served cold and without cutleries.

Also, highly recommended for salmon sashimi if you like them dry, smelly, tasteless and borderline edible.

When asked if the slow service and awful food were normal, the manager (plus sized guy at cashier in blue shirt) explained that kitchen is “busy” (place was 20% at 2:30pm on a Saturday) and many staff were on break(at least 5 staffs were sitting around at dining area looking at their phones - oblivious to the chaos.

Amazing place!

(Read below if you wanna know more details)

Arrived 2:20pm on a Saturday. Decided to have a quick lunch because the place looked not too busy(only 10-20% of table occupied)

Immediately ordered two kids meal, one adult set and few drinks. We told the host that we have to leave by 3:00pm for our next appointment and he seems to understand.

This is when our nightmare began.

We started asking about our food around 2:40 to three staffs. All of them left our table and never come back to explain what’s going on.

Food did not come until 2:50. The first was adult meal set BUT it came without the main dish. No explanation given until I went to the kitchen asking where is it- still making it. They were at least 5 staffs in the kitchen looking busy but not sure what they were doing.

And what was helpful, we realized they were zero cutleries at the table (Or the surrounding 10 tables). So we went to one of the staff on abreak for adult cutlery and kids cutlery. He politely asked us to wait at the table, which we did. Cutlery came after at least 3minutes wait.

The Kids meal came 2:55. Hot food came cold. We had no choice but to feed the kids in 5mins. We immediately asked for the bill, they gave us 10% discount for the trouble. When asked if this is normal, staff said kitchen is busy(only 10% tables occupied!) and that many staff are on break (yeah, pretty obvious as they were at the customer dining area)

Not a single apology from the staff. Paid and left. Never...

I have had quite an enjoyable brunch here. A set of Salmon Nitsuke, Chicken Don and Prawn Tempura. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This variety set is so generous with its portions that it seemed to be a set for two. The main attraction was the lightly battered and fried salmon that was slowly simmered in sweet soy sauce on a shallow claypot (donabe?). I like the fact that the lightly battered and fried texture of the salmon blends harmoniously with the sweet soy sauce. The only complaint I had was the sauce could have been a little bit less sugary. A nice touch was a few slices of egg plant that was prefried as well but not battered.

Oh yes, this set also came with a generous size don of deep fried chicken with teriyaki sauce. It was an alright part of the set. If you like your fried chicken with teriyaki sauce, this will do it for you.

The next part of this set was a plate of tempura of two prawn tempura and again a few slices of eggplant and this time, battered. The taste was well within expectation.

It may have been a set but Ichiban Boshi did not skim on the ingredients for its chawanmushi. It was full size with all the ingredients that you have come to expect of this very common but very much loved side dish.

Akami Abore Sushi ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I didn't know there is such a thing in sushi so I just had to order it to try. It was basically diced tuna on a lump of rice cushioned by a piece of seaweed. It came with the raw tuna already seasoned with some soy sauce I think. In a way, it was like your typical tuna sushi but in another form. A messier form as it took some effort to pick up this pile of shoddily put together sushi 😅

I also ordered the ikura sushi and ended my brunch with a huge glass of...

Decided to have a quick lunch because the place looked not too busy(only 10-20% of table occupied) Immediately ordered two kids meal, one adult set and few drinks. When asked if this is normal, staff said kitchen is busy(only 10% tables occupied!) and that many staff are on break (yeah, pretty obvious as they were at the customer dining area) Not a single apology from the staff. Paid and left. Never coming back again.

A messier form as it took some effort to pick up this pile of shoddily put together sushi 😅 I also ordered the ikura sushi and ended my brunch with a huge glass of Matcha Yakult.
