First thing from waiting outside, the staff was very friendly and warm guiding us on the menu while taking a queue.
We ordered their signature curry grouper fish, signature dried bak kut teh, anchovy yin Yang kailan, homemade tofu with minced pork and of course their Kam guat lime drink.
First of all the curry grouper come in big portion with big pieces of grouper fish, tofu pok, lady finger, fried tofu skin which is very appetising and definitely need to add additional rice for this.
Secondly the dried bak kut teh was very strong flavoured and the pork just melt in your mouth. This is a must order here.
Then their homemade fried tofu with minced meat, overlay with egg on hot plate, their home-made tofu indeed is very nice and this alone is also a good meal on its own.
Then lastly the fried Anchovy Yin Yang kailan, from the look alone I know this is a good dish, indeed the kailan was cooked well and retain the crunchiness and juiciness of the vegetable itself.
And finally their Kam Guat Lime drinks was the real deal here, it was very well flavoured and I would say this is the best one by far here.
Bonus: they even served us a Gui Lin Gao to help us in relieving heat from all the food we ate.
Overall I found this restaurant indeed running on top notch service, very attentive and if you saw in my photos they even provide a small multi layered tray to put additional stuff to keep the table well organised.
I will DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK. This place is highly recommended for bringing friends, relative who visit you for a Chinese reunion...
Read moreBeen seeing some solid reviews for this place and so I decided to visit for dinner. The parking woes are nothing new here so please be prepared and exercise some patience. As we walk over to this shop, we were surprised to see that there were people waiting for their tables. Thankfully we need not to wait for long. Upon entering the shop, my olfactory sensor was pleasantly barraged by the dai chow aroma coming from the kitchen. So far everything seem to be building up to a potentially great meal. We ordered 2 servings of their signature bak kut teh, one soup and one dry. I took some sips of the BKT soup and I noticed that it was flavorful with a hint of herbal bitterness. The cuts of pork meat sadly weren't as tender as I hoped for. I personally prefer the dry version over the soup. The richness of the dark soy sauce in combination with the fragrant dried cuttle fish makes for a good flavor explosion in my mouth. Oddly enough, the cuts of pork meat here were much more tender and almost had that melt in your mouth pork belly texture. Overall, I would say that the BKT here is of average score in my opinion. However, they do serve a huge variety of dai chow dishes and I wouldn't mind to drop by again to sample their...
Read moreRating it solely for their BKT and Dry Chilli Claypot Pork.
BKT was decent. I would have loved it more if the claypot was hotter. Soup was clear and more on the diluted yet flavorful side. Not as thick as I would like it. Flavors were alright. Meat portion however was lesser than other places. Thus the 4 stars. If you want enoki and fried fuchuk, all are add ons. So one portion of BKT can cost around RM30. Pricy for what it is.
Dry Chili Pork was full of flavour especially from the dried chillies and salted fish. Delicious. Pairs well with rice. But again the meat portion could be improved.
Went there on a weekend night 9pm and it was still packed. The space is quite small and your clothes may smell a little. But atleast it’s air conditioned. They have other dishes too that people order such as fried chicken and cereal mushrooms.
Total damage was around Rm60 with 2 rice. Above average price. Food was decent for me to try other...
