Mangobox. A place where you go in for a meal and come out questioning your life choices.
We walked in, stomachs growling, ready for a nice meal. The place wasn’t even crowded. Perfect! This should be quick, right? WRONG. Just as we were about to order—BOOM! BLACKOUT!
No lights. No aircon. No explanation. Just the entire restaurant thrown into caveman mode. For a moment, I thought we were part of some weird social experiment. Were we supposed to hunt for our own food now? Build a fire? Start writing letters to our loved ones?
Then, like a prophet of false hope, a waiter appeared. “It’s okay, you can still order using the QR code.”
Ah yes, because what better way to enjoy a meal than by sitting in a blackout sauna, ordering food through the dim glow of our suffering? So, like the obedient fools we were, we placed our order, confident that relief (and food) was on the way.
And waited.
And waited.
30 minutes later, we were still sitting there, sweating like we had signed up for some extreme heat endurance competition.
Then comes the grand revelation.
Our order? Never received.
The best part? The staff didn’t care. Not a single one of them. They had collectively mastered the ancient technique of “Pretend The Customer Doesn’t Exist.” I waved at one of them, and I swear, they looked past me like I was a spirit from another realm.
If you love dining experiences that involve no food, no service, and no electricity, this is the place for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else.

Read moreIt was fine at first, smart way of getting the sizzling grilled chicken chop as best seller and as the cheapest meal on the menu. My family and I prefer to order lamb skewers as it's meaty and tender, whereas scallop is a bit too dry and bland, lamb chop is affordable while the chicken chop is understandable why it became the crowd's favourites. The apple juice is also great at both its taste and price but hopefully the next visit would work on their customer services both system and mentality.
For starters would be apologising after the incident regardless of what you are in position as, thankfully I have received an apology from the owner himself as things would stop escalating further. Standing for yourself isn't wrong but insisting to shove the blame back onto the customers is, causing a commotion as other customers from other seats, confused as to where their food went, and why there's a commotion with their food. Going back to double and triple checking would help, and would potentially gain respect from your customers to be understanding on your level. Lovely knuckles but I believe they should be admired privately, dear scrawny lady in tudung. I understand Ramadhan is hard, you need to fast and work twice as hard during the weekends, I'm sure you'll have ideas on how to solve the crowd control issue...
Read moreI came to this outlet instead of Petaling Jaya after I saw their Facebook advertisement. Ordered a couple of selections from their menu. Staff are very friendly, helpful, patient and efficient, always ready with a smile.

A simple decorated restaurant with bright lighting, spaces between tables is comfortable, food presentation may be improved, portion is a little bit smaller in size, Black Pepper Sauce (seriously need to be improve), staff services are very good and efficient. Tastes of food are reasonably acceptable, food served very efficient and fast. No outside drinks or snacks allowed even though you are dinning in. Parking is a little bit problematic at this area, need to be patience and a couple of going around the area would be able to get one. There are also a private parking lot available in the center of...
