THE SHOP OWNER IS A GREAT LIER... We went for My family of 9....I planned the trip so that we can have a banana leaf lunch on our second day of vacation...so I saw the review and called the shop 3 weeks up front and confirmed that they have banana leaf meals
Today... The actual day... We had late breakfast... And decided to have late lunch at 4.. I was at the beach area.. I called again to confirm if there is Banana leaf meals at that time.. Twice when I asked if there is banana set meals... He said come over sir we have rice and the items... THIRD time... With my whole family witnessing me.. I specifically said I want banana leaf lunch.. Do you have it... As I kept insisting... then he kept saying 'come over we have rice and items... Then he convincingly said.... Just come over.... So very tricky...
I told my wife that he sounds fishy... Maybe he just wants business...so we went there with a dual mind..
When we reached there... My whole family of 9 was there and I ordered for banana leaf rice and they said no banana leaf... I was dumbfounded... I said I just called and he said you have banana leaf rice.. That's why I came... So I made some noise saying that someone told us to come over... Then the owner came and said.. I was saying we have rice and items but I never said we have banana leaf rice..
If they don't have it... They could have told us.. Why lie and trick us.. I was so angry and insisting... My family looked at me and asked me to calm down... If not I would have shouted for tricking me like this... If you don't believe me... Try calling them... We were from kl...
Food was just like normal home cooking... Not very tasty... Or special... Those giving good reviews must have missed their mom's cooking.. Which I'm sure would have been better...
Sorry for being negative...It is my true experience...this happened today...
Read moreI have had the pleasure of eating in K.R. Mani Curry House from the late 90s. It is an unostentatious place which only focuses on taste and quality. While there are many such places all over Malaysia KR MANI CURRY HOUSE has become a go to place for those living in and around Sentul as well as those who have had the good fortune of having tasted their food. Whenever I come to Kl I first visit this place like a pilgrim going to Batu caves or Thirupathi. Their fish head curry and mutton curry give a bang for the buck. Sometimes the newly recruited waiters may take a while to get used to our eclectic taste but on the whole you can always count on satisfying your hunger and quest for authentic Indo-Malaysian food in this eatery. Over the years their prices may have gone up but it is still not to the ludicrous level of the so-called franchise restaurants from India or the pretentious restaurants that have Godavari fish curry and Nellore fish curry on their menu but the waiter is not able to distinguish one from the other. So the next time you are in the vicinity of Sentul , do pop in for a Roti Canai with a kopi . Or linger over a delectable fish head...
Read moreAs a customer who has been more than 5 times, I used to go to this shop when my family missed appam. The first thing—they won’t bother or respect you. The only one who takes orders, trust my words—"a tall guy, thin, and walks like he got something in his back pants."
Whatever you request from him, he will say yes and bow his head like he noted everything, but he won’t put it into this useless tablet. When you realize and get mad, only then will he put in the order, and you will receive your food after 30–45 minutes. I have waited for food for half an hour. They only care about old customers like bonding.
I much prefer and support Indian food restaurants that treat customers like family, as well as Chinese and Malay businesses. I’m not racist, but you guys running this business should have the sense and manners to change the management and make it systematic. Don’t think this is just a comment—I am willing to take legal action...
