Indian food is a cuisine that emphasizes great, complex flavors, and namaste India ttdi has done that exceptionally well, while allowing customers to enjoy it in a modern setting.
We had the tandoori kebab platter and the vegetarian version, while the one with meat has great flavors, it was the vegetarian that impressed me, perfectly balanced with light and bold tasting dishes, perfect to begin the meal on a high note.
The breads are well cooked. Perfectly fluffy without feeling too dense.
But what truly impressed me were three curries, the palak paneer, the butter chicken and the prawn chettinad.
The palak paneer, perfectly smooth and well blended, creamy texture without cream. The butter chicken has bold and complex flavors that I really enjoy.
But what I really loved were the prawns, perfectly succulent and springy shrimps, all cooked in an amazing curry that has hints of smokeyness.
We were very full after that, and opted to try two desserts, the kesar jalebi and the saffron kulfi. The kulfi was absolutely delightful, filled with good quality, that truly highlights the flavors of high quality saffron. The kesar jalebi, might be too sweet to my liking, but I know sugar lovers will adore this.
My compliments to the manager, who went above and beyond to explain the menu and helping us with out orders.
Would definitely come here again, one of the best places to have good North Indian cuisine...
Read moreAtmosphere very quiet, perfect place for you when you want to be away from usual Asian restaurants which filled with choirs without conductor. That can be enjoyable when you need a boost for your spirit. But peace of spirit.. this is the place to go.
I ordered chicken biryani. Presentation is nice. Taste was awesome! Their fried rice contain tiny piece of cinnamon, cloves (cooked really long until very soft, hardly notice unless pay attention), cardamom.. each of them have different fragrance. After biting each of them with rice I took a bit of white sauce (yogurt, cumin seeds, salt and maybe lemon) everytime the sauce boost out and left different sensation in my tongue and mouth. This is a very interesting and delicious dish only when I pay attention to the “hidden” taste.
Side dish given by restaurant is papadam with green sauce which is extremely spicy for me but also taste fresh and nice.
I order chai tea, what I like about this tea was without sugar ( add yourself white and brown sugar ), the taste is good although I was expecting more ginger taste should be in there. The disadvantage was the cup is very small. They also served free mineral water and can refilled.
Parking not easy in this area but they have free valvet parking. I was lucky to be able to park infront of the restaurant. The staff was very friendly to assist me...
Read moreWas in TTDI last Saturday afternoon for lunch and wasn't quite sure what to eat (as the Don place was full). So, browsed Google Maps to see reviews of the restaurants here - saw good reviews of Namaste India.
I simply LOVE Indian food and have been to many good ones (from Gerais Posh Fine Dining). But this simply didn't hit the spot for me.
Ordered Ice Lemon Tea - at RM15 a glass, i thought it was going to be freshly made - but no, it's Season's Ice Lemon Tea.
Ordered Pani Puri - The tamarind mix juice in the test tube was long prepared but all the sediments were at the bottom of the tube and there's no way to mix it up without making a mess. This should have been prepared at the time of order. I've tasted better Pani Puri at Jamun GLO TTDI.
My friend ordered Fish Tikka (if not mistaken), the fish was too wet on the inside and tasted like it wasn't quite well cooked and was from a Frozen State and cooked.
Butter Chicken - This was more sweet than anything. Taste was OK, but felt that they could have done better by giving Chicken meat without any tendons.
Overall, not so satisfying meal we had at over RM120 for 2 pax. They could have done better or maybe its just the things i ordered were different from what others here had...
