This Kopitiam offers Thai Food, Braised Duck, Prawn Mee, Pork Noodle, etc.
Atmosphere: 3.75🌟 The place is rather clean but not sure why it doesn't feels that way especially when look from outside. Probably is the poor lighting and some what cramped space feeling right at the corner with not a lot parking slots hence people traffic is low here. Which means good spot as well if you prefer less noisy. The tables and chairs are solid and nice.
Service: 3.5🌟 Drinks orders and pays at counter for take away.
Morning/Afternoon Stalls
Food: Pork Noodle 3.5🌟 Surprisingly tasty broth.
Food: Fish Porridge 3.25🌟 They apparently don't have chicken or pork but have Fish/Seafood porridges. The taste is quite ok (quite plain) with slight sweetness. Can't remember what fish was chosen but it's like Rm 16.
Drinks: Kopi (Ice) 3🌟 Take away less sweet. Flavor is acceptable but due to too much Ice it will taste very bland after. Priced at Rm 3.30
At night they offer Steam Fish/Braised Pork, Stew Soup, Ban Mian, Stir Fry Noodles/Rice (Siu Chao), Bak Kut Teh, Rice Wine Chicken, Braised Duck, etc.
Evening/Night Stalls
Food: Sour Spicy Mustard 3🌟 Not flavorful enough but is okay if you prefer more plain. Its not spicy and more sourish. Priced at Rm 5
Soup: Radish 3.25🌟 Seems like the style here is mostly original flavor of ingredients without too much other seasonings. It tastes okay but I think the soup here lacks a bit of boil time hence the ingredients still has quite some flavor. Priced at Rm 7 Hakka Delight's Wednesday Soup Day (morning/afternoon) is much better.
Soup: "Yu Zuk" Chicken 3.5🌟 Not sure if its "cordyceps" but very strong "Yuk Zuk" flavor. However, that's pretty much the flavor, its nice to drink but simple flavor. The Priced at Rm 8 with Rm 2 for Rice Add On.
Food: Curry Pork Rib 3🌟 Flavor and portion is decent. Priced at Rm 10 and Add On Rm 2 for Rice.
Food: Bak Kut Teh 3🌟 It has a strong taste of bitter, not very pleasant. The meat is 70-80% fat which is too much when I order mixed meats. Priced at Rm 17 (Add On Rm 1.50 for rice) which isn't cheap.
Drinks: Chinese Tea...
Read moreI've tried almost everything in this coffee shop except for the steam food stall which operates only in the evenings and is a pretty popular stall, so we have to check it out and we finally did. Ordered a) Hakka pork belly with preserved vege (mui choy) @ RM9 - tasty albeit the meat being a little overcooked. preserved vege is so soft and flavorful. b) Braised ginger duck @ RM 8.50 - savory but not much meat. c) Vinegar pork trotter @ RM 9 - well balanced. sourness, savory and sweetness just nice. meat is tender and juicy! d) Double boiled pig tail soup with peanut @ RM5 - nice e) Have tried the ckt with plump and fresh cockles @ RM6, char tang hoon @ RM7 (aromatic but gets very thirsty after), f) Thai fried rice @ RM6 (tasty and tangy), g) Thai tomyam @ RM7 (wonder why they have choy sum and cabbage in it) epic fail! h) BKT per pax @ RM 15.20 (mostly cabbage in the claypot. Less than 8 pieces of small cut meat in it) Won't bother again even though it passed the taste mark. I seriously think it was an overkill! i) Chu char ( noodles) managed by foreign workers charging RM8 for a pack of mediocre hokkien mee. Once is enough! j) Hakka mee and curry laksa is rather good. k) wild boar pork curry w/rice @ RM9 - very good and meat is tender. a little oily though.
l) Pan mee is smooth but not worth the while! Stall owner is so freaking(dead), no life, no smile, no expression and worse, the portion doesn't justify the price! Portion so bloody measly (photo attached) and yet charging a bomb! RM8.50 for chili pan mee (more expensive than Restaurant Super Kitchen Chili Pan Mee (RM8/with pork chop)just down the road, a full fledged a/c restaurant and not just a stall) Give this stall a miss by all means! All serving is for per pax and comes with a plate of white rice.
Most of the evening stalls closed on Tuesdays, except for just one or two due to the pasar malam. Outdoor seatings available and the adjoining shop is air-conditioned for more...
Read moreI'm a regular here, pops over many times a month for my breakfast fix.
Must try for the first timers are the, HK style Chee Cheong Fun and Dry Pan Mee. Drinks wise is Iced Milo Cham Kopi (Milo mixed with coffee). The rest of the food here is decent.
About the HK Chee Cheong Fun, the queue is long, 15~30 minutes long. Be prepared for a good long wait. What I often do is to get the nasi lemak opposite of lucky while waiting for this. Another thing about the Chee Cheong Fun, it's not a filling meal so you can binge on other stuffs as you wait.
About the Nasi Lemak. If you ever come here around 7am (before 8:30am) there is a van selling nasi lemak by the road side directly opposite of this food court, and it's real good! Just look for the queue and...
