Pak Din Ikan Bakar — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

As someone who used to come here everyday, I can vouch that the food is good, especially ikan bakar with kuah asam. Having said that, sometimes you can feel that the floors are dirty. The price is also relatively expensive (expect to spend RM20/pax with drinks) given that its's a food court and share seats with other vendors.

The auntie at the cashier is not friendly at all, will give you the worst glance everytime you want to pay for your food. The pricing is also unreliable as prices can change by RM2 day by day.

If you come in a group, its better to get the vegetables in a single plate rather than each person taking the vegetables on their own, as you will be double charged for the food.

The grilled fish at this restaurant is really good. Like seriously, the balance between the acidity and the smokiness just waters my mouth. But not all good things tend to stay good forever. Unfortunately there is one major problem about this restaurant. And that problem is that it is self service. That is a major problem when especially when opening this type of restaurant in my point of view. I don't really mind self service but what i mind is it is sometimes really hard to get a seat and this fast pacing restaurant tend to not care about the cleanliness so why bother making the drinks and food self service. You can make it self-serving but, please make sure that the tables and chairs are spotless clean. The sink, my god, it is absolutely disgusting. For once, getting one right does not mean getting everything right but luckily the food here covers the cons almost entirely....

I used to be a big fan of Pak Din Ikan Bakar, but sadly, not anymore after this visit. Went for lunch on 26/9/25 and ordered keli, ayam, two rice with vegetables (one was just a quarter portion). The total came to RM44! Imagine that! Keli with RM13! Mind blowing 🤯
