Restoran Al Sarifa - Bukit Bintang — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

If you are a traveler, be aware of this restaurant. They might scam you. I went there last week, ordered mutton biryani which the price on the menu is 13. Something. When the bill came they charged me 40 ringgit When I talked to them, they gave me the following excuses: the mutton biryani sold out, so they changed to another dish which does not make sense, any place would have go back to ask the customer what they want instead After the first attempting failed, they changed the excuse to the mutton biryani did not sold out, just the menu is from before COVID, but the price difference is way to significant, as well my friends’ orders were charged exact like the menu. And if the price has changed, any normal restaurant would have update and tell the customer about the price difference, also COVID time has been like 3 years now? It is also pretty much a lie. After the second attempt failed too. They said the price on the menu only for one piece of mutton, which there was no remark nor the waiter had told me about it. Also I did not ask for 3 piece of mutton on my plate.

I guess they thought it was my first day in Malaysia, and thought I don’t know what mutton biryani is and I don’t know the normal price for the dish in a place like this restaurant. It was clearly a classical scam I’ve been hearing before. After I told the manager on the counter I will call the police, they offered me 35 instead, to be clear I was not asking for a discount, they are deceiving, I only will pay for the price on the menu, I told them so and told them they are scammers, they finally let me pay for the price on menu. I went here because it was quite late night, too tired to find & walk to other food places, and this restaurant literally just 'ngesot' from where I stayed 😂😂

Food: They were NOT the same as pictured at menu (in a good way, on the menu they look small, but reality they're quite huge portion) • Naan cheese ~ I ordered this because I've craving for prata/naan/any similar 'dunk in curry' food since I arrived in KL 😂 and my naan cheese came in a big portion (and THICC CHEESE 😍), the curry is quite good too • Chicken Masala ~ I was planning to eat my naan with chicken as side dish, but againnn the chicken come in quite too much portion 😂😂 they tasted great though, the chicken are moist, juicy, and strong spiced (many masala chicken I've tasted often dry, and not spiced enough 😔) • Mamak Soup ~ not my order, its my mom's so I don't know the taste. It come with a rice even though we didn't order a rice 🙄 • Teh Tarik ~ great one!

Price: They all come in total of 31RM, which is cheap if converted into Rupiah 👌🤣 (Indonesian tourist here~ 🙋‍♀️)

Wish I had read other reviews before I came in but the same as many others apparently I was ripped off. Asked for Nasi Kandar Daging that was clearly 9RM was repeated back to me by the (incredibly rude I might add) waiter. Then I was told my meal was 39RM, he said it was a nasi Kandar with everything, fish, chicken and beef, when I had ordered nasi Kandar daging. The meal he supposedly gave me was not on the menu, and nothing else on the menu even came close to 39. Waiter purposely ripped me off, was incredibly rude before I even ordered and when the meal arrived some of the ingredients were cold.
