OYO 89688 Alor Street Hotel — Hotel in Kuala Lumpur

We just came for a week. Mostly our focus was on shopping, therefore we were looking for a cheaper hotel, just to stay.||||We did not make any booking online, but arrived at the hotel to make room reservation. The staffs were friendly and helpful. I really appreciate their work.||||We did not pay for whole 6 nights, therefore we had to extend the duration of our stay every day. RM90 per night on weekdays and RM100 per night on Weekends.||||The room and the toilet were clean. They clean the room and toilet every day.||||I would recommend this hotel for a person or couples to stay in, if their focus is on the shopping. According to me, most of the shopping is done at KL and I wanted to cut down the expenses for transportation and accommodation, because almost all the shopping centers are located at KL.||||And one more thing. Alor Street (Jalan Alor) is the food street. There are lot of restaurants located outside the hotel. They start their bussiness at night time. They cook different types of food, Chinese, Indian and Malay, etc... And I really did not like the smell. Especially my wife. Everyday she covers her nose while we are walking...

Booked a room here online as was going to be coming during a weekend.on arrival were greeted politely but as soon as we mentioned we had a booking were told that this was"invalid"despite having already paid online.the staff demanded we pay them money on top of what the room was booked (and paid) for. we refused to give into this extortion and ended up staying in a nice hotel next door.eventually got our money (for the room we had already paid for) back through the booking company.very much felt as if they had sold our room to someone else earlier that day(despite already having charged us).||Overall...if you book and pay for a room in this hotel, doesn't mean you will get one unless you are prepared to hand over extra cash to the...

based on my personal experience, i would not recommend this hotel. it was so dirty, the room was literally crawling with cockroaches. i spent the whole night killing it and dare not to sleep. the cockroaches just keep crawling out from behind the bed frame or from the small table top next to the bed. I've complaint this issue to the staff there and no action was taken. Very bad. pls stay away...
