I have always loved Halab, especially the Penang branch, where my family and I often enjoy Adani tea and Nabulsi kunafa. These two items are our absolute favorites. Because of this, we decided to try the Bukit Bintang branch, which looked more “premium” in design and setting. Sadly, this turned out to be a very disappointing experience.
We ordered the same Adani tea and Nabulsi kunafa that we usually enjoy in Penang. However, the kunafa served here was completely different and not fresh at all. The dough was soggy and over-soaked, barely sticking to the cheese inside. The cheese itself was hard and dry, showing clear signs that it was not freshly prepared. On top of that, the dish was dry with almost no sugar syrup; something I have never seen in any kunafa before, not even at other Turkish restaurants or street stalls.
We immediately raised this issue with a waiter. He called another waiter (the one who had taken our order earlier), and we explained and even demonstrated the poor condition of the kunafa. To our surprise, he simply insisted that “this is normal” and that this is how they serve it here. We tried to explain that we always have the same dish at Halab Penang and it has never been served this way, but he kept repeating the same response. This was frustrating, surely as regular customers who love this dish, we know what it should taste like.
In the end, we only had 3–4 spoons and left the rest. We paid the full bill anyway, but even when the waiter came to collect payment, he never acknowledged the fact that we left the dish almost untouched. Only after I pointed it out did he casually offer something complimentary but by then we were already leaving for another place, and honestly, the gesture felt insincere and too late. If staff truly cared, they should have acted when we first raised the issue, not after taking the payment.
To the owner or manager of this branch: please understand that customer service goes beyond taking orders, serving food, and collecting payment. Customers deserve to be heard, especially when they are genuinely dissatisfied. You may have hundreds of customers daily, but even one unhappy customer matters. Without sincerity and responsibility, even the money earned from such a transaction becomes meaningless.
This will unfortunately be my first and last visit to Halab Bukit Bintang. For comparison, I will gladly return to Halab Penang, where the same dishes are always fresh, and the service is respectful and caring. I truly hope this feedback is taken seriously so that no other loyal customer has to feel the same...

I recently visited Halab Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, and honestly, it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, elegant, and inviting. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and made sure I felt comfortable throughout my visit. Their service was top-notch — friendly, fast, and very attentive without being intrusive.
The service here deserves special mention. Afjal was super kind, polite, and made us feel so welcomed. They were always attentive, checking in to make sure everything was okay, and even gave great recommendations from the menu. It’s rare to find service that feels this personal and genuine truly one of the best I’ve experienced!
Now let’s talk about the food — absolutely incredible! Every single dish was packed with authentic Middle Eastern flavors, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. I tried a few different items from the menu, and each one tasted heavenly. The meat was tender and juicy, the spices were balanced perfectly, and the portions were generous. You can really tell that they put a lot of love and effort into their cooking.
I also loved how clean and cozy the place was — it’s perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. Whether you’re coming with friends, family, or even on your own, you’ll definitely enjoy the experience.
Overall, I’d highly recommend Halab Restaurant KL to anyone looking for delicious food, excellent service, and a great dining atmosphere. It’s definitely a place I’ll come back to again and again....
Read moreI recently dined at Halab KL, located in the heart of Bukit Bintang, for the first time. Finding parking was a bit of a challenge, but I managed to park at Park Royal Residence, which is about 400m away from the restaurant. The ambiance inside was cozy and inviting. What truly stood out, however, was the delicious Arabic cuisine.
Having never tasted Arabic food in the Middle East, I've explored several Arabic restaurants in Malaysia, including Hadramawt Palace, Barakat Hadramawt, Hadramawt Waterfront, Bread and Olive in Malacca, and Al Jamal in Nilai Negeri Sembilan. Among them, Halab KL has undoubtedly been the best in my experience.
During my visit, I ordered the chicken Mandi, lamb kebab, and shawarma. The waiter informed me that the shawarma would take some extra time to prepare, which I didn't mind. However, after enjoying the chicken Mandi and lamb kebab, we were already quite full and had to take the shawarma home.
The chicken Mandi was a delight. The fragrant rice was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt and herbs. The chicken was cooked well, although some parts were slightly dry. The portion size, in my opinion, was generous and suitable for two people.
The lamb kebab was excellently seasoned and paired wonderfully with pita bread and garlic sauce. The accompanying salad complemented the kebab nicely.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with Halab KL and will definitely return. As a fan of Arabic cuisine, this restaurant exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delightful Arabic dining experience...
