The sayur manis makes me want to come back every day. It is so delicious 😭 I already piled a big pile on my plate but I feel like I wanted more 😭
Vegetable dishes are exceptionally nice at this place. Even the gourd stir fried with egg and another type of gourd stir fried with glass noodles are so goooood. Brinjal is a bit heavier on taste but this is the first time I come across a mix rice stall using basil in the cooking with the brinjal. Very nice touch on the flavours.
I have had some of the worst chap fan experiences in Cheras. But this place proves to be different.
There has been too many chap fan stalls in Cheras serving excessively seasoned and poor grade of ingredients type of dishes. I often come across choy sum that tastes more like a tree in other chap fan stalls in Cheras 😂 Especially around the Taman Segar, Taman Taynton and Taman Connaught area. I had pretty much decided to avoid chap fan stalls here just to be safe.
But when I chanced upon Chai Huat's chap fan stall, the dishes looked very inviting because they serve a lot of unique dishes I don't commonly find elsewhere.
Best was when boss called me "mei nu" and charged me RM7.50 (depends on portion and type of dish) 🤣 Boss really know how to do business. When I look at reviews, it seems to be common that boss charges a very very reasonable price for his chap fan. People of all walks of life come here to enjoy the chap fan.
Dishes are very nicely flavoured without excessive seasoning. Very very delicious. Tofu puffs are great too but they commonly absorb too much salt so this was what happened to today's tofu puffs. Mince pork patty tastes nice though unsure of the reason that it feels a bit mushy. Still tasty.
I definitely intend to come back whenever I am in the area because the food is delightful. I will be back every day if I lived here 🤣 The cooking style is a bit more rustic and you can feel a bit of greasiness to it but I wouldn't say it is bad.
The beverage vendor takes kurang manis very seriously 🤣 The most kurang manis I had ever had in a cham c. But it's all good! Kopi is...
Read moreIn the shop there is a main stall selling mixed rice. One the cheapest economy mixed rice around Cheras area. Decent variety selection of dishes, around 30 dish. Dishes is nice , would recommend their fried pork and the stir fried anchovies with peanuts and onion. 1 meat + 1 vege mixed rice will cause you around rm4.50-rm5.50 depending on the amount you take. They create their own condiment. Their fresh chop chilies sauce...
