[Expensive and NO MENU provided] I hope the owner can consider providing MENU to all their customer for PRICE TRANSPARENCY. Been here twice, both times also without menu. When asked about menu, they said NO MENU. When we sit down, they will just ask what soup do you prefer, “curry, tomyam, clear soup?”. During our first visit, we had their SEAFOOD noodles was by “ACCIDENT” because NO MENU was provided. We sat down, we were straight away asked what soup we want and without knowing it is actually SEAFOOD NOODLES that cost RM30++ per bowl ! Fair enough, ok, with the amount of seafood but pricing still on the high side considering the dining environment (back alley). Didn’t expect a quiet morning breakfast turned out to cost us RM60++ 😂 Second time here was even more disappointing.. we ordered their basic FISH BALL noodles (refer attached photo), ingredients used in it were mainly frozen fish ball ingredients yet we were charged RM15.00 a bowl! It’s my mistake that I never ask the price before ordering despite NO MENU was provided again (and yes, i did ask for MENU in this visit and still they said NO MENU). Who would’ve thought a bowl of Curry FISH BALL noodles would’ve cost RM15 considering the dining environment (back alley) 😅 After the meal, I googled up again on other reviews and found out they actually do have proper FOOD MENU. If upfront i was given MENU to order, i wouldn’t have this rant and would just probably eat, pay and leave. Lastly, they DON’T accept E-Wallet 💆🏻‍♂️ ONLY CASH

They serve 3 types of soup based, clear, curry and tom yam. They also have fish head noodle and dry noodle. So, within minutes a steaming hot bowl of curry seafood noodles appears before you, its rich and aroma. Seafood such as squids, clams, mussels, fish slices (not fresh) and prawns fill the bowl to the brim that you can hardly see the noodles. A little unctuous, but there’s no denying that the creamy rich broth is flavorful and spicy too. If you want spicier, they provide chili paste in a container on every table, all you crazy people who loves to have their food overly spicy need not be worried. We ordered big bowl of Clear Soup Seafood Noodle. The ingredients are prawns (At least 3), mussels (Quite a number), clams (Quite a number), fishes (a few only, but found it not fresh at all), squids & some seaweed. Overall, it’s delightful and just oklar…Last but not least, Tom Yam Seafood Noodle, which is also laden with a ridiculous amount of seafood, and find that the tom yam soup to be extremely thick and flavorful. It’s very spicy, for us that can’t take too spicy, can opt for clear broth. Overall ok la but super super expensive. Taste Rating: 6/10 Ambiance Rating: 5/10 Service Rating: 5/10 Value Rating: 3/10 Overall Rating: 4.75/10

Still the same after close to 10 years! Don't let the recent negative reviews deter you. The noodles are still worth a trip out. I first tried this with friends while on a work trip in KL back in 2016, i recalled being totally mindblown by the noodles back then and since then whenever I came back KL for work, I made it a point to come back to eat but as I'm usually in KL for just a night on most occasions, the timing is always hard to hit as they close early at 4pm. Alas this is a craving that was left unfulfilled for close to 10 years. Having a pocket of time today, I made a determined trip to Yu Ai to rediscover this amazing bowl of seafood curry tom yum mee. For the noodles I choose the Lai Fun - Thick, chewy, grabs the soup well and very satisfying. The curry tomyum soup is exactly how it remember it to be - Bold, robust, gao and a very satisfying sour/spicy profile. The seafood was abundant and overflowing, generous portions of fresh prawns, cuttlefish fish and mussels. Overall, I'm so glad to have returned and rediscovered Yu Ai. A truly tasty, amazing bowl of noodles that is not only comforting but indeed a unique taste class of its own. A must must eat when in KL!

RUDE SERVICE!!!

It is with only one star and the one star is given to its food - soup based mediocre at best.

Food - apart from the soup based being mediocre everything else was below average. The dried noodles were tasteless. The seafood were not fresh and prawns were overcooked and not de-veined. Yes the portion was seafood was generous but it was unpleasant to have had to finish bowlful of overcook veined prawns (couldn’t even clean the veins my own as the flesh was already close to being mushy)

Environment - hygiene can be improved. The staffs were cleaning seafood on the ground next to drainage. Imagine to be eating in a hot oven and that oven sits behind the shoplot.

Service - if I could rate it with negative star, I would. The middle age lady would be shouting at her foreign workers all the time. Be forewarned that the lady boss would be telling you off about your kid is lack of being educated by parents. She would also tell off your kid not to play with tissue, soy sauce and sauce plate whilst really my kid was just serving sauce under her dad’s supervision like she normally does in all other places we visit. When I tried to tell my kid not to touch the utensil as the boss wasn’t happy, the boss intervened to tell me off, very rudely, that it is the parent’s responsibility to educate own kid not the boss (her).

She was also passive aggressively rude about taking our order. When I asked how big is Large size of the noodles. Her response was rather rude by saying the size is subjective to individual and she appeared to look annoyed and simply told us to look at the other table for size reference. She didn’t seem to be comfortable taking questions from customer.

Overall dining experience was awful. Definitely not worth the hype to be spending RM 40/pax on mediocre food at closed to being filthy kopitiam. The owner will have to come to a realisation of the importance of service when all other fundamental business elements that their business cannot offer. Consumers are buying service at the present time.

Definitely not coming back to be paying overpriced mediocre food and dining in filthy conditions whilst having to put up with her...

Visited yesterday for lunch around 3.30pm. Order two bowl of their signature curry mee seafood but we requested the noodles using mee hoon only. There's one young lady took our order with no smile on her face at all. After waited for 15mins, our order came but with the wrong noodles. We told the young lady who took our order, it was the wrong noodles. With no apologies or whatsoever, somehow showing unsatisfied face took our bowl and went away, came back to our table telling us after 5 mins later, they can't change our noodles since they are run out of curry. Funny. They supposed to close by 5pm and at 4pm they told us that as excuse as they refused to change for us. Whether it's the truth or not, there's no valid reason for them to show face to us. Yeah, your food is good but your services are terrible. 1st, they made a mistakes in our order and no apologies at all since we have no choice than to eat the noodles that we didn't ask for. 2nd, customers are eating and they are shouting around at their staff. I don't understand this kind of attitude, why do you have to give instruction to your foreign staff by shouting? They are not animals. I don't feel comfortable that happened around me while I'm having my meals. And finally, I disappointed with this place. I have introduced this place to many of my friends and this is the kind of service I've experience. That would be the last time I visited this place. Yeah probably wouldn't affect their income since they are really that 'good' but I rather support average place with better services. I don't tolerate rude and...
