The first time we went to this branch were 20 December 2021, we had an amazing experience that day (the female waiter who served us was very attentive and initiative). The food that day was very fresh too. Beef and pork were fresh, soups were awesome especially tomato soup, super rich and aromatic.

Today (January 14 2022) we decided to come back for more as we were very satisfied with the previous food experience and services provided.

This time service is very poor, not friendly, and not initiative. To be honest I don't expect the service to be as good as haidilao because it's incomparable. However, mistakes mentioned below are the ones that totally got us into a rage 😡.

Issue NO.1: We arrived the restaurant at 7.49pm. Then the waiter gave us a hard nudge saying that we still have 30minutes left to dine in(that time was just 8.30pm). Which is ridiculous, because we were told that each table can dine in for 2 and a half hour. Therefore, we voice out and rectify them about this matter. Turns out their maths is wrong. Therefore they bow to us,apologize and ask for our forgiveness (OK fine this is small matter)

Issue NO. 2: we mistakenly thought that "yam konjac" is yam 🍠(fine its our own mistake) Therefore we asked the male waiter to cancel, but the waiter told us that it is prohibited to cancel the item due to current covid situation (scare we transfer the virus to the food I guess). Funny thing is the food haven't even served to our table, we didn't even touch it. But the waiter said "no, u can't cancel". We were all taken back by this absurdity. Thus, we make suggestion that "can we change this (yam konjac) item to (lotus root) then?". However, the waiter that served us still insisting to say "No, u can't do this". We were all in shock 🤯, mindblown. (we were thinking ourselves we didn't request for something absurd stuff that worth like rm100, we actually intend to change "RM10 yam konjac" to "RM12 lotus root". We thinking fine, 一人让一步吧. But the male waiter still insist to say "No, u cant do this". Eventually we had to find another higher ranked server only they decided to compromise (ok finally we got our item changed, SETTLED. However, we were already unhappy during the whole experience, why wanna save your money on RM10 but give a very awful experience to the customers, this we don't get it. WHY? )

Issue no. 3. The food we had today was not as fresh as last time. The beef was very dry. No fat at all. Very chewy. Abit smelly aftertaste. Dissapointed!

Issue no. 4: when refilling the soup base, the male server accidentally oil splashed onto us! (abit only la no worries)

Issue no. 5. We actually had 3 vouchers of RM20 off(because of previous dining). Upon arrival, the 1st thing we ask is how to use these vouchers? we know that RM148 can use 1 voucher ;RM296 can use 2 vouchers together. Thus we inquired for more info, the same server said that " yes, this voucher applied to ALL ITEM as long as your total is RM296 included tax, service charge, you can minus off RM40 using 2 vouchers. But once the bill arrive, we were told that we can only use 1 voucher RM20 off. This time, we were told that the soup base, desserts, drinks, service charges +tax are not entitled to deduct. Thus we didn't meet the amount RM296. We find it ABSOLUTE ABSURD because earlier the same male waiter told us that as long we spend over rm296, we are eligible to use 2 vouchers. This means that the waiter is NOT WELL-TRAINED, gave wrong info to the customers! They know their wrong but didn't do anything about it, just a couple sorry sorry sorry words. THAT'S ALL.

In conclusion, we paid for RM314 (3 pax) Leave unhappily🙂. Really DISAPPOINTED AND HAD UNPLEASANT...

I have never been to a Sichuan (western China) style hot pot place before. Since day one in Malaysia, I wanted to try this restaurant. It was happeningly right next to the place I stayed.

About 400 days later, we finally tried it out. As a result, I loved it. I tried so many Japanese hot pot dish since my childhood. I tried several Korean and Chinese hotpot. But this place offered different flavors, different services, and different self-service sauce-making counter.

We are not strong against spicy foods. So we decided to try half and half of bone soup and mushroom soup. I slightly liked the bone soup better, though both were very good.

The employee who helped us was really kind. When I tried to make my own dipping sauce, he asked where I am from. I answered from Japan. Then he helped me with how to make Chinese way. And later he made a sesame-based dipping sauce himself and brought it to our table. I also tried Chinese bbq sauce and my wife made her own sauce, as well. They all tasted good! Very fun and interesting experience at that counter.

There were also some vegetable pickles and fresh watermelon slices as well. All are complimentary. I enjoyed them a lot.

Now back to the table, I think my favorite items were pork shoulder meat, handmade dumplings, and kelp.

They gave us instructions about how long we have to cook those items. When we asked questions, they kindly answered them all. So we could properly cook everything.

Handmade dumplings were juicy and flavorful. Pork shoulder was sliced thin and matched very well with our dipping sauces.

And Kelp, in my childhood, kelp was used for dashi. Especially Shabu Shabu hotpot. I have never ordered kelp as a menu item before. But actually their kelp tasted good. So good. Definitely try it with garlic and coriander based sauce. Good strong texture and deep flavor in it. I would order kelp again if I have a chance.

Overall, the service was great. Foods were great. The interior looked beautiful and clean. Only complaint? The burning garlic breath when you wake up next day.

It is a little pricey place, but definitely worth a try for unique...

I’m superb love shudaxia steamboat but yesterday it’s was disappointed. We booking 1030pm by call, the people that answered the call didn’t tell us 1030pm is last call. When we reach at 10:17, he told us need to order before 1030pm, all of my friend haven’t reach yet, they will almost 1030pm only reach, how they can order the food. Luckily when they reach still can order beverages. When we finish eat, we saw the poster wrote last call is 11pm!! If he don’t want serve us can let us know when we booking, if we reach at 1030pm then we can’t order anything? Come for 喝西北风?all the service is not so good. We have friend birthday, so we have bring the cake to celebrate with him, when we wanna blow cake, we ring the service bell triple times, no one come in until we open door and call them only come in. All that it’s ok, we know the shop is operating till 12am, once 12:04am, the supervisor come and tell us we wanna close??? In the phone call, he told us can late abit, at the time we just cut our cake, haven’t eat yet, then they drive us away. We know it was tired for the work but if you can’t service well, pls don’t pick up us. And the xhs advertisement must put the date of promotion, we go for the 22% of student promotion, when we pay bills and ask they said it’s was expired. About the payment, it’s no so friendly to us too. Once we order before 1030pm, dishes haven’t been serve. Direct ask us to settle the bills?? I love shudaxia, the taste is good and the dishes is fresh, but the service is too bad!!! Love Sunway branch always, first try tun razak branch and get the super...

It is a little pricey place, but definitely worth a try for unique Sichuan hotpot!

Love Sunway branch always, first try tun razak branch and get the super bad service.
