the first time I went to Mantra, I had a fairly good experience but my recent experience was so bad, I don't think I would ever come back.
I made a reservation a few days beforehand and they seated us at the very far end, where no one attended to us as no waiters walked by and we even had to call their phone number for them to come. one of my friends asked for the shisha menu, three times, and it never came. the tables were sticky and even when the customer seated behind us left, no one came to clean up the tables.
we requested to change seats, if there are tables available because no one was attending to us at the back. and when they finally moved us, the table wasn't even cleaned yet. we had to stand there and wait for them to clean it.
we also had to wait more than 1 hour, 2 hours even, for our drinks to arrive and when we called for the waiters to check on it (multiple times), no one respond to us. and when they did, they never went to check on our orders as requested and we had to call for them again and again. and the drinks arrived diluted and warm.
we asked to speak to the lady manager to talk about the poor service we've experienced and the staff just walked off and never called her as we requested and we had to ask another staff to call for her.
when we confronted the manager on how bad is the service was she told us they have a event going on so that’s why they didn’t manage to serve us. but why were we not informed about it beforehand? if you choose to host an event and let other customers who are not involved into the bar, then why are you giving us excuses for your poor service. if you cant manage it, then just let your customers know that you're closed for an event.
mind you that the service charge we were billed was RM40+ if you're going to charge your customers that much for service charge, at least do better. we had to walk around to look for the waiters since no one attended to us.
the drinks were fine, but please reconsider your...
Read moreMy first visit experience - It’s Thursday night visit around 10pm, changed 3 times to get comfortable seats. First, table assigned too big for 2 pax, second, table with good view but super warm I’m just sweating within 5mins sitting down, third, changed to indoor seat. Planned to order 2 Conner Pint, but recommended by waiter wine promo list, choose Red wine from Spain as recommended. Also ordered shisha - lemon Zest flavor. Service was not up to expectations as need to raise up hand for few times to get waiter passing by or provide eye contacts to the customers. At least 5 or more waiters on duty including bartenders, but hardly get quick attention whenever we requested. Even I have to get up and walk to the bar to get a glass of ice water. Wine serving experience not professional or well trained I would said, wine opening with half wine cork break inside the bottle and the waiter has to get helping hand from bartender to open it and takes more than 10mins for the sessions. Come by the table to serve wine with slight pour out on the table. Shisha was not great as expected, my friend coughing few times and asked to adjust but still not a great experiences after all, later When requesting for the bill we are “surprised” with the shisha price which is slight expensive than a bottle of wine. RM200 for shisha excluding service charges and SST. Wine it’s cost RM180(promo price) . The bill caught us surprise as we did not realize clause on the menu of the price. We paid and leave. That’s should be the reason why not much shisha under review when I search for Mantra Bar before decided to pay visit there and when we are there no other table customers ordered shisha too. Last but not least, we are not satisfied with the service vs spends we made. Cozy place, food menu we have not tried much as we come by after dinner and we just ordered spices...
Read moreWent there yesterday for my birthday dinner with my girlfriend. Prior reservations were made and we had a good outdoor seating with the beautiful KL skyline view. The service was good and we have ordered their Carbonara Spaghetti and Crusted Lamb Cutlet and Diavalo Chicken Sausage. The chicken sausage was perfectly balanced with the tomato sauce and spiciness and had a good flavour paired with toast breads. The Carbonara was delicious and very well made and I could say, its a proper Carbonara with good ingredients and the duck breast was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. The Lamb Cutlet was very underwhelming and quite disappointing where I couldn't continue eating it after my second bite. Then we decided to have Classic Fish & Chips. The waiter was very kind enough to get our feedback on the Lamb and went and checked at the Kitchen and the kitchen did confirmed that the Lamb was overcooked and not seasoned well and they also managed to get that removed from my Bill and I got my Fish & Chips, whereby it was really good and not typical frozen Dorry fish. The fish meat was nice and firm and cooked to perfection and was very flaky and the batter has a nice salty bite to it. The beer pint was great and not too diluted. Overall, a good spot for some good meals overlooking the KL skyline and its very cosy on a Tuesday as well. Definitely, would like to come here on other happening days to...
